Gummy recipe - 3 in 1 infusion buds magical butter machine

Good day ladies and gentlemen. It’s extremely difficult to smoke weed anymore. Gummies are my go-to for getting buzzed. There’s absolutely no reason for me to continue to buy gummies from the dispensary when I have so much weed that I could never smoke at all. With that said, I did a thang I broke down and purchased a Gummy maker.

Just so we’re all on the same page this is exactly what I purchased.

Below is a list of all the ingredients that I currently have readily available at this point.

1.) Coconut MCT oil
2.) Sunflower (Liquid)lecithin oil
3.) Gelatin powder (unflavored)
4.) Jello brand flavored gelatin box (6oz pk)
5.) Potassium sorbate powder
6.) pure citric acid (fine grain)
7.) cornstarch powder (for dusting?)

Let me first say that the gummy machine tends to do everything. However, I don’t understand any of it. It may as well be written in Chinese. I just don’t understand any gummy lingo, recipes, milligrams, percentages etc that make up a recipe.

All right let’s start with the weed I have many different strains and percentage potencies. I decided to go with my lowest assuming THC weed that I have for my first batch as a test as I don’t want to use my extremely high THC weed and make mistakes.

So what I’m using for this test batch is Green Crack that I’m assuming is somewhere around 12% to 15% I’ve already tested the machine on decarbing it was effortless touch a button and walk away. The machine holds 1.5 Oz of weed so I decarbed two single ounces at different times and simply stored it in the refrigerator until all of my drying oil goods came in that I need to make the gummies with. So I have everything in and I go to use their recipe that comes with the machine. The recipe is very generic and not very self-explanatory nor does it use all the ingredients that I believe should be used. (Coming from a person that knows absolutely nothing about this process :face_with_peeking_eye:)

Here’s my problem. Assuming we have 12% THC in the Green crack I don’t want to make 12% THC gummies I want them to come down to be somewhere around 30 mg. It doesn’t tell me how I can adjust the THC levels **obstacle #1) when making the infusion oil.

This is the instructions on the recipe book.

Back to my original obstacle/problem of adjusting my THC percentage to give me a higher more potent batch of oil. Once more not knowing anything about these procedures I took a guess and figured if I made 1 oz using their recipe it would be 12% THC and after infusing my first batch/oz of weed I would simply take that infused oil and run it through the second ounce. (Something deep down inside says it’s a good idea but it won’t work) Or will it?

Also here is the final recipe preparation to mix the gummy with the infusion. (Per the book)

After spending a half hour on the phone with my good buddy @Growdoc he definitely made my understanding slightly better but I’m still totally lost. He suggested that I go straight to the gummy master @AfgVet (you have been tagged )

Here are my major concerns

1.) I would love to get these gummies utilizing the green crack weed somewhere around 40 mg per gummy. That’s in a perfect world. 30 mg would be fine and I can live with 20mg. Is this even possible?

2.) I am not opposed to utilizing a tested perfected recipe and method on both the gummies and the infusion. Nothing says I have to use their recipes. Keep in mind this machine only holds 550 ml of liquid or solids

3.) will my idea of using 1 oz of weed at 15% to make a infusion and taking the oil from that infusion and pouring it onto another ounce of 15% THC weed actually make the final infusion better/more potent?

Something in the back of my head says this could do more damage than good as I’m reheating the mixture and running it through again but I’m not sure?

In short, I have several ounces of assuming 12 to 15% THC weed. I just want to make some good gummies. HELP :face_with_peeking_eye:

I truly appreciate your kind assistance in advance.

check out Emily Kyle calculator on her website…I use my Tcheck along with her calculator to determine what did I make… I just make MCT oil … and definitely no expert but people tell me it works great…

Same as ROG Emily’s calculator is very good, and just take a happy medium on advertised potential % of thc and be good if weak add more material Next time :+1:, I also use the Tcheck.

I have the same machine and what I have discovered is using the maximum amount of decarbed weed with half or less of the recommended maximum oil to make gummies

At 12% for one ounce you have approximately 3.36 grams of THC available. You likely won’t recover all of it in an oil infusion so say 70%. That would be approximately 2.35 grams of THC. With a 30 mg gummy you will need to make roughly 60 gummies.

A candy funnel would be an excellent addition to your setup:

Hey Pam, could you send me the code for the Sept BOM win, I have an itch that needs scratching! Lol @AfgVet . Thank you!

1 gram of 15% weed ~150 mg THC

28 g × 150 mg = 4,200 mg THC per Oz
4200 x .7 (decarb percentage) = 2,940 mg actually

Then figure amount per gummy
30 mg x 100 = 3000 mg needed. You’re around there on a Oz depending on the decarb percentage.

Hey @Lostgirl, I’d be happy to share a recipe. As far as potency goes, I think it’s a wild guess if you’re infusing. Without something like a at heck, you’re just guessing.
As @StonedCold13 said, QWET is the way to go if you want a better idea of how potent your gummies will be, as well as consistency from batch to batch. The taste of the final product is also more pleasant.

I just posted my recipe, here’s the link

@AfgVet thank you so much for actually taking the time to respond with all the wonderful information. Also I would like to thank everyone else for chiming in as well.

This is a totally new process for me and I learned a lot from everyone’s post. It gave me a better understanding that the calculator is your friend on this. The recipes are very different from person to person and the solidification end result has to be perfect in order for these gummies to set up properly and not sweat or melt etc.

Let me tell you where I’m at.…… I decided to go with my gut and re-infuse the already infused oil that I made from one ounce of weed that I’m assuming is somewhere around 12 to 15% THC.

I then took that infused oil and infused yet another ounce making 2 oz of weed into one cup of oil. What did that make my THC? (I have no idea :joy:)

At this point I had a solid cup of of infused oil and it was time to cross my fingers and go with the recipe that came with the book of instructions that has a very basic gummy making recipe. You can see the recipe above that I made in the pictures of the book that I posted earlier.

I also added 20 ml of high end food grade VG (vegetable glycerin) that I had because I used to make e-juice. I then added one teaspoon of citric acid to my recipe and 1/4 tsp of potassium sorbate both of these act as a decent preservative for stabilizing shelf life.

I yielded 120 gummies that I can cut each gummy into four pieces and each piece will get you stoned. My gummy molds are equivalent to the size and shape of a lifesaver candy I took 1/4 of a piece of gummy, 38 minutes later I was sitting on the end of the bed wondering why I was sitting on the end of the bed and realized I was super stoned. My son took a little bit off the spoon we were pouring the mixture into the molds with and next thing you know he’s in the kitchen at 3:00 a.m. eating cereal and peanut butter and jelly and then I believe he took a bag of Doritos downstairs.

Needless to say, I don’t know what the hell I made but they’re perfectly cured, wonderfully potent, and I think everyone’s happy (high). I believe I took my quarter piece of gummy at around 11:30 last night and I was still high at 4:15 this morning.

Now it’s time to go take care of my tent and feed the girls and I notice I’ve got gummies mess all over the place that’s going to take me an hour to clean up.

Thank you all again. I now have a better understanding on the gummy process.

Great job jumping in there and figuring it out.

Once mixed and poured into the molds I stuck them in the refrigerator for 1 hour. I then pulled them out of the refrigerator and put them on a shelf for 8 hours. I just dusted them with cornstarch and I’ll let them sit at room temperature on a shelf for another 24 hours. Then into a jar for nightly consumption :+1:

I love y’all’s patience on using molds :flexed_biceps:t2:
End product definitely looks better :green_heart::sign_of_the_horns:t2:
I know caliG told me to get a candy funnel but I can’t seem to spend that money :upside_down_face:

I usually use my qwet to bake with. I am going to try making some infused chocolate bars with it this weekend. Super simple recipe, chocolate and FECO. This candy bar mold eliminates the need to use a candy funnel to get it in mold.

Well ya know I happen to have a bunch of molds like that and others from my magic chocolate days :oncoming_fist:t2:
Thanks for the reminder :+1:t2:
And what’s FECO? Doesn’t sound appealing :upside_down_face::green_heart::sign_of_the_horns:t2:

I use the term FECO for what I make. I make it same as you with the qwet method and end up with oil.In the pics below I move the oil from silicon mats to a jar where I do the decarb

FECO is full cannabis extract oil, RSO is basically the same thing just proceeded a bit different than FECO. Most people use ethanol as opposed to Ricks original recipe with isopropyl.
