I received my MBM a couple weeks ago. Made a nice batch of Coconut oil. I made a Brownie mix using 1/3 cup oil and the 1.25" squares are AWESOME!. I poured the oil into the supplied butter mold put in the fridge to harden and now going to cut 1/3 cup portions, wrap and freeze or keep in fridge.
@blackthumbbetty I see the use of butter so I may make some butter also. I have been reading about the tincture with Everclear. If I made some how is it used? Is it for smoking? cooking? ??

The alcohol is made for tincture
I thought you could use everclear to separate the resin and make smokeable product?
The question is what do you do with tincture???
I put 1 ml in a little orange juice and it starts kicking in about 15 mins later for a nice 3-4 hours. Great for daytime
I have done several everclear tinctures
Just cover how ever much product you use with the alcohol so it’s soupy. I would give the jar a shake once in the AM and once in the PM. I found 2 weeks was about the best- stronger than one week and 3 weeks is about the same as 2 so…
I strain with a coffee filter over a funnel
The everclear make using it sublingual an experience
I mix with a little water and drink down, but if you reduce away the alcohol you get a paste type of product that can be mixed into anything

I’ve been making alcohol based tinctures in my Magical Butter for a couple years now. I decarb 2 oz’s and put them in my machine with 2 cups of 190 Everclear. I do the 130°/8 hour extraction. Get rubber gloves so you can really get a good squeeze on the plant material and get all the good stuff out. I make a RSO after though. 1 cup at a time I’ll put in my pan and keep the heat below 190° and slowly heat the alcohol off, alternating a fan in and off to help evaporation until I have a black goo. I’ll run the recipe for gummies MB has on their website and then pour into the pan with the oil and mix well on low heat again. I’ll fill 1ml gummy molds up with that and it is incredibly potent! With that recipe you’ll get hundreds of strong gummies.
I did that but I used a whole bottle of Everclear with 2 oz. I now have about 1 1/2 - 2 Tbls of thick goo. I want to try it in a gummy recipe. Next time I will try with just 2 cups.
Use a cup of alcohol per oz of decarbed flower. I use the Ardent decarbing machine also. Up’s potency for sure and takes all the hard work out of decarbing. You can get up to 5 oz of slower and 5 cups of Everclear in the MB I believe if you want a crazy batch.
Instead of everclear I used MCT oil. I don’t have a MBM. I put decarbed weed with the oil in a sealed ziplock and into the sous vide at 203 for 4 hours.
Hi I have an mb2 and an ardent decarber but I’m relatively new at using it,I have made butter and a tincture but I was worried about using the everclear so I used polish vodka instead,can you tell me how you make the RSO and what recipe you use for your gummies? I use the tincture in an apple juice reduced down,here are some of mine
But mine obviously have a strong vodka taste lol which is ok but it’d be better if I could have strong gummies with a nice flavour,I’m also looking into how to make the capsules with mine can you help me there at all please ? I do enjoy smoking it but I have emphysema and my lungs aren’t upto it much these days so I have to look at edibles and hopefully capsules as alternate ways,as well as being a long term recreational user I now like to use it for pain relief instead of all my prescription pills and to help with my appetite and sleeping so any help you can give me is greatly appreciated
I love my machines! My MB just started making a loud noise when in use so going to have to get a new one soon. Not mad at all given the amount I’ve used it over the last couple years. When I make my RSO I’ll decarb 2 oz, then put the 2 decarbed oz’s in the MB and add 2 oz’s of 190 proof Everclear. You want the higher proof to strip all the THC from the plant material and it evaporates and cools off much easier. Run the MB at 130° for 8 hours. Theres a shorter 4 hour tincture option but I found the 8 hour more potent and flavorful so I only use that one. Once it’s all done strain it good thru the microfiber bags you got with your MB or if you didnt cheesecloth works. I use nitrile gloves so I can squeeze everything out. I usually strain mine into a larger glass measuring cup to see exactly how much tincture I needed up with (a little evaporates with the cooking heat), an makes it much easier to pour into my amber tincture bottle for storage. When I make my gummies I’ll measure out 1 cup of the tincture and pour into an unheated pan and set the stove on low heat. Here I use a infrared thermometer and try to keep the burner around 200°-220° at most and the pan with the tincture around 140°-190°. Decarbing happens around 250 so I try to start away from that number so the THC isn’t damaged. If you don’t have a thermometer no big deal just keep the stove on the lowest setting and watch for little bubbles and a mist to come off while evaporation is starting. I also put a small fan on low pointing at the pan and tuen it on as needed to keep temps in range and helps move the fumes around. While cooking off lift the pan and swirl the liquid slowly to keep everything mixed up and cooking evenly. I dont use anything to stir just roll the pan. You start to see less bubbles and mist and you’ll see the liquid getting thicker and black. Once it’s getting like that set off the burner for a minute to cool. When the liquid in the pan is a thick goo that barley slides when tilted to have the RSO. From there leave all that in the pan and make your jello mix.
I use-
-12 ounces f lavored gelatin of your choice
-1/4 cup unflavored gelatin
-1 tablespoon citric acid
-1 cup chilled juice
-¼ cup of honey or agave nectar
-½ tablespoon flavor extract
In a large bowl, whisk all the unflavored gelatin, citric acid and flavored gelatin together.
In a measuring cup measure out 1 cup of fruit juice. Nothing with acid like orange juice. Apple juice works for me. Then add the agave to the juice and stir.
Add the juice to your mix of gelatin and stir it up until it’s all dissolved and let sit until it hardens up a little.
Pour all of that into the pan with your RSO you just made.
Set the pan with everything in it back on the warm burner and slowly stir. Keep the temps below 250° again and keep slowly stirring until fully warmed and all the black goo is mixed into the gelatin. I’ll pour that into a small warmed crockpot and fill my gummy mold from there. You can use the pan if you dont have one just move quick so it doesn’t harden on you. I use syringes from medicine to fill mine. I use 1 ml size bear molds and 1 bear is incredibly potent. I’ll put all my filled molds into the freezer overnight then pop them out onto parchment paper and lay them on their backs on a table for about 12 hours to sweat out any water then refreeze. They’re done and strong now! They’ll hold form too but I still keep mine in the fridge or freezer.

The more detailed the better I find it so that’s great lol it’s very similar to the mixture I make up with the green dragon tincture I have but it’s 95% polish vodka and I don’t usually reduce mine down to make the RSO as I didn’t know how to make the rso but I may try that with the tincture I have,I was worried about using the everclear as I’d always seen the alcohol burned off on a hot plate and I just have an electric stove and I was worried about leaving any of the everclear alcohol in the mixture and it’s supposed to be poisonous,but the way you have explained it makes perfect sense
I use the MB directions for tincture and they say to use Everclear and to reduce it down like I do. I just use thermometers to keep temps below 250 but high enough to be cooking off the alcohol. More controlled for potency. You’ll see it cooking. I have an electric stovetop and it works fine. I wouldn’t try it with a gas stove. For sure fumes and wouldn’t want it near an open flame. There’s an older video on YouTube of a guy making the RSO like I do that’ll help give you an idea of what to do too.
