Fabric or plastics pots
Fabric. No doubt.
Fabric
I use both, don’t see a difference in plants. Fabric is more breathable but I put a couple hundred holes in plastic buckets. I’ve had great grows in both!
Both will work. I prefer cloth. But plenty of drain holes serves the same purpose as @Growdoc mentioned.
I prefer fabric, pretty fool proof and I’ve found they have much better airflow and drainage.
I have to go with fabric made my watering schedule easier to follow an know.
Mahalo much for all the advice:call_me_hand:t4:
I use plastic when growing organically. Fabric + water base when using synthetic nutes.
Fabric!
Love my fabric bags but to be fair have never grown in a container. Always fabric or in the ground
These best of both worlds. Sturdy and breathable. Unlike fabric 1 time purchase and always look good.

Whatever your choice, I suggest they be identical – material and capacity. It will make it easier to tell when it’s watering time by feeling their weight.
Fabric here.
Plastic pots if you live in a hot dry climate because they don’t dry out as fast as fabric or clay pots.
Fabric pots are good if you use potting mix because potting mix doesn’t always breath well and the fabric pots can help with that. Having said that, plastic pots also work well for potting mix if it’s a good potting mix that drains freely and doesn’t compact or clump up over time.
The main thing with plants (regardless of the pot you use) is to have good drainage (a good draining growing medium) that lets water go through quickly and easily and allows air to get to the roots after it’s been watered. If you have a free draining growing medium, you can use any type of pot and the plants should do well.
Sorry throwing a curve ball out there but have any advice on grow lights for a 5x5 tent? And budget kine and im new to this thanks
if I use a fabric pot should I put it on a plate?
Welcome to the community! I have a plastic riser that I found off amazon. Pretty cheap and raise the pot up about an inch so air can circulate underneath.
Another atvantage of air pots. The way they are designed they put the bottom of the pot about 3/4 of an inch off the floor. Eliminating the need for risers but still allowing airflow under them.
Welcome to the community
As mentioned definitely have something under them to raise them slightly
