Growing Outdoors How Long For Maturity

Hi how long does it take outdoors for a cannabis plant to be mature and ready for harvest. I started mine mid May 2021. This website says 6 to 9 months. If that’s true I’m screwed.

Photoperiod plants or autos?

If autos, they will start flowering some time between 4 and 9 weeks of age. Harvest would roughly be 8 to 12 weeks from the start of flowering.

If photos, they will start flowering when the daylight reduces to 12 to 14 hours of light per day. Harvest timelines will be 8 to 12 weeks from the start of flowering for photos too.

@AngryPossum its really dependant on strain for photo’s and also possibly where ever you are located, so I’m in North Eastern U.S. on the Canadian border for outdoor harvest it could be late September to mid- October

I live in BC and grow in a greenhouse to extend my season. Some strains like Lebanese finish quite early, others like Balkhi, finish much later. Typically most cannabis at my latitude begins to flower in August and goes for a couple months after that. So I can expect a moderate photo to finish late fall… hence the need for cover. If you try to grow any equatorial strains like Thai or North African you can expect them to finish in December… not gonna happen outdoors in NA. So select the appropriate strain for your latitude and local climate… micro climate, or prepare to cover bear the end season.

I’m in NY about 10 miles from Manhattan NYC. I’m growing Purple Alien Strain. If this helps.

New York City Area. Purple Aliens Strain.

If it’s photoperiod strain you should see flowering around beginning of August and finish around beginning of October. Give or take of course.

What area are you in?
My plants flipped in early August. Even though WeatherBug still says I’m over 12 hours of daylight?
Hopefully you’ve been charting your progress did you note when you started seeing Pistols? That will give you a basic timeline of whatever strain you have, they keep you in the ballpark.
I am relatively new at this but that’s been my experience in the past 2 years
