Would it be better to use auto flower seeds when growing in the woods? The reason I ask is that there will be shade/shadows from the tress at times, meaning direct sunlight will average only about 10 hours a day on my plants.

You can grow a photo, but it may flower earlier than expected if it doesn’t get enough sun.

Sorry no pictures yet just getting things set up with kennel panels to keep the deer and critters out as well as cutting some trees to open the area up more.

That why I was wondering if auto flower would be better.

I grew a ton of weed in the woods for like 30 years and not one was an auto. Photos have to have dark for 9 or more hours straight to start flower. The shade can effect the growth of your plants.

Sounds like your area will accommodate either one. Autos could possibly get you two harvest in the same season. Good luck with your new venture.
Thank you
