Go for it mate I wish I had enough space for a compost bin( so it didn’t stink everything up), oyster shell is awesome
I agree @patchman, politics needs to be kept separate and I would love to chat about the divides that hold us apart but you’re right here is not the place. Oyster shells, how quickly do they break down
If it’s your page you can talk … Ain’t no buddy gonna blackball YOUR thread. You just hear T say that all the time cause she heard Covert say it ONCE! I will add this - it almost always gets someone flagged though… LMAO
Good day everybody!! We are at day 3 or so and all is well in the neighborhood. I am missing the dome at this point, and she has her first set of leaves. Soon I will start watering with only a little bit around the plant so the developing roots can search for water. Here are the pictures from today.
Top viewSide view. If you catch a glimpse I am growing catnip as well for the cats who are not entering the grow room, no matter what. Have a great day everyone. Found a good source of calcium at of all places wal mart. They actually had broken up clam shells. I think they were meant for chickens, but they won’t miss one or two bags, lol
They look mate and coming along just nicely
I think the problem is that we all like it here and I would be gutted if got black balled
Personnally, I like to bring the level of soil up, right close to the cotelydons. In my mind, it helps support the seedling and allow for more root formation room…imo…
She looks great @patchman
Hello @patchman,
Looking mighty fine my friend. Was just reading through some of your journal and WOW, a wealth of
information already. I am already using the organic mix again for some of my outdoor grow. I have 2 X Afghan, 1 X Purple Haze, 2 X Gold Leaf. All doing really well so far.
I can thank everyone on here for my success with my first grow. I am really interested to try the strain you are going with @patchman. Happy to be on this journey with you.
Happy Growing
Thanks Mr High,
I appreciate your comments. I appreciate everyone stopping by for a minute. This is technically my 2nd grow, but going with all new gear and soil makes it feel like the 1st. One thing that I am not doing is checking on the plant every couple of hours. I check the hygrometer a couple times a day and mist the “dome” as needed for moisture. Thanks for your support everyone. Have a good one everybody!!!
Hey everyone-
Not much happening today. I have added a little soil to the cup (thx kaptain) and lowered the t5 light down to about 14 inches. I named her Betty. I figured all B names for blueberry plants. So far the tent has been great- the T6 is ready to kick in if needed, and it hasn’t turned on once. Temps have been 75-78° during the day, and 72-73° at night.
The humidity has been right at 50%. Today is day three above ground. Are there any recommendations on when Betty can blow her lid? Will update again soon with pictures… Peace.
Your temp and humidity are absolutely spot on. Have you thought about any sort of LST yet. If you have a bit of research just now would freshen your knowledge up in nice time for them being the right size to start

I have, and actually have “pin down” anchors and large pipe cleaners at the ready. The pin down anchors are “U” shaped, metal that you can tie down branches with. There may be a name for them, but I don’t know what that is. I got them at a nursery in town. Betty is an auto so I will be on an expedited time schedule.
I’ve never had any sort of success with autos for some reason . You’re right though, limited time frame so I believe it’s plenty feed and lots of light
Interesting point on the plant anchors, need to look for them

I am 95% sure I got them in a local nursey. I got these foot long fuzzy pipe cleaners at wal mart
I will find those stakes in the morning, its 3:00am. Time for a little sleep.
I bought a roll of really soft tie wire but trying to get something that won’t pop off the side of the pot is a pain. Sleep tight buddy I’ve burned the midnight oil a few times myself
You can use binder clips for LST, get a pack from Walmart, should work for fabric pot as well.
I found this picture, check it out.
@Dave101 genius idea. My pots are square so they will work perfectly. Thank you for the heads up
I used binder clips and pipe cleaners on cloth pots, makes the process easy peasy

Here are the anchoring pins. They look like they are for holding fabric down, but look like they would be good for training too.
Look at that, not seen those before
I think I have a solution though. Dave101 and Afgvet both use binder clips. My pots are square so I’m going to use a combination of pipe cleaners and clips as my LST is a disaster. Definitely an area for improvement
