Well, that was a lot of fun. Such a good time and everyone was so nice. It was great being in a space with 50-60 people that all shared the same passion, and compassion, of wanting to grow and consume this plant. I’m lucky enough to live in a state where it is recreationaly legal to partake and grow. But even here, when at work, or even in social settings, it’s not something that you really talk about with others unless you are friends or fellow growmies. Imagine being in this space where that’s exactly what everyone was there to talk about. Very cool, uplifting, and socially bonding to be surrounded by very like minded and same goal oriented people. Can’t go into work and talk that freely with that many people.
Got to meet and speak with at length with the two instructors, Christina and Cae. Both so nice, and wonderful to share stories with. There were a ton of vendors and a lot of swag given out. I’ll post some pictures of the event and part of what was given out for participating. As a side note, they are planning on doing these across the country in different states. I would highly encourage you to try to participate if you get the opportunity. I understand that there are a lot of people who are cautious about going or say that they don’t like people overall, but it’s different when you have a shared mindset and purpose. It just means taking that first step to talk to like minded people.
Even though the grow class itself was very basic, as it was designed to be, (seed, paper towel, mist, baggie, dark for 48 hours), what surprised me the most was the thirst for knowledge and people being able to ask questions of the more experienced growers. Just like here in the forums, sometimes even the seasoned growers just need someone else to put their eyes on it and give an opinion or a confirmation. Even the presenters, although they talked about Monterey BT for caterpillars, hadn’t heard about or used Jacks Dead Bug, they ended up mentioning it and cycling between the two so the bugs don’t develop a tolerance because of one of the chats we had prior to the presentation. I learned that from here on the forums, shared it with them and they in turn shared it with the grow class. So see, you all got to participate and help others, even though you didn’t know it because we are a knowledge sharing community on these forums. Thank you all for that. And so many people just starting out, or hadn’t grown in 30 years because of kids/jobs/location, all of them hungry for knowledge so they can get it right.
It looks like they are trying to do the Grow Club LA once a month. I’ll continue to go as often as I can, but it is a couple of hours drive going up there. They also encouraged the new on-line Grow Club for those that can’t make it in person. Overall, a great time.

Here’s some of the swag that was given out. There were also pre-rolls, vape pens, infusions, rolling papers, grinders, etc…:
And the biggest thing, a CannaVault. These run $25-40 for this size. They only had a limited number, but I was one of the first people there:
A fun time was had by all.
