ILGM Grow Club Mentors – Call for Intermediate to Experienced Growers

So we’re starting something new; the Grow Club

Grow Club’s mission is simple: help new growers start their journey with confidence. But we can’t do it alone — that’s why we’re building a Mentor Network.

We’re looking for intermediate to experienced growers who want to give back by coaching first-time growers, answering questions, and sharing their knowledge. This will happen both in-person (our first live session is in Los Angeles) and online. If you’re interested in being part of the in-person mentorship team, know that there will be more opportunities in other locations soon.

What Mentors Do

  1. Support at Events
Join our monthly Grow Club live events. While Local Expert Leaders present to the group, you’ll be the go-to for 1:1 guidance — offering constructive feedback, sharing your own tips, and making sure new growers feel supported.

  2. Help Online
As ILGM’s digital platform launches, you’ll be listed as a Mentor. That means Grow Club members can reach out to you for troubleshooting help via phone or video chat. Mentors will also have the chance to become guest lecturers and share their grow journeys with the wider community.

  3. Share Your Role
Talk about your experience as a Mentor on social media to inspire others. ILGM may also invite you to contribute content — whether that’s a short video, a blog post, or even joining our podcast to share insights.

What You Get

  • Free tickets to all Grow Club live events

  • Free seeds and exclusive ILGM swag (starting with a shirt to wear at events as an official Mentor)

  • Exposure as a thought leader — we’ll highlight our Mentors across ILGM’s social channels, forum, and email community

We’re excited to build a Mentor Network that not only helps beginners, but also shines a spotlight on the growers who make this community thrive.

Just think by the time this is up an growing you could have 1.5 years experience.

I think this is a great idea! There are so many experienced growers on here that have grown on large scale and multiple years. Kudos to whoever came up with this. And a +1 for the local grow meet-ups too.

LOL! Just tell 'em how you had to lug gallons of water and nutes for 5 miles through the snow every day, uphill in both directions…

In a pair of shorts and slides

Haha yeah and had to grow with no fancy gadgets and the old way is the best way

Amazing opportunity for those interested. I like the idea of support for those that are intermediate growers. I can kill it until 1/2 to 3/4 of the way through bloom, then it seems like something happens, foxtails, or something.

Might have just a little too much intensity causing the foxtailing.

Could try backing the power down 5% and see if that helps.

What a great idea! We have so many fine growers helping people. I’m sure you’ll gain a great list of official mentors.

I turn the lights down to 500 to 600 ppfd, at the end. I’m thinking heat maybe, even with a/c running it can get 90-95 in the tent sometimes, which is why I think I’m going to fall/winter/ spring growing only, see what happens

Just wondering your on off time do you run your lights during the day or at night. I run mine at night an they are staying around 80° at 80%power right now 1000ppfd. Might help reduce the heat.

I signed up but have a thought. When ILGM puts together the mentors it may be a good idea to ask what mediums they have experience with. For example I have a number of both soil and coco grows, but no experience with DWC or Ebb and Flow.

That is a very good thought
