Good question. Heat issue?

I think it’s a combo of this and what @reed71 said – dry soil – from the damn heat. Anyway, she’s hanging now and I have to check out everyone else now.

Or in a happy stupor perhaps I missed her last watering – two days ago. You know “it” happens. Do you think I should try to hydrate the buds – so they don’t dry too fast or something?

Right now the meter says 19.4% on the plant

Just leave as much plant material and stem as you can, and dry them as slowly as you can. If they turn out to not be the best smoke, they’d make great edibles.

as @Newt says try to keep as high a RH as possible to slow down the dry…then put in those wonderful grove bags…

Ok – listening to you and @Newt. I just cranked up the humidifier in the tent. Can I over do it? Should I try to keep it at like 70 RH?

I just it at the base and left it completely in tact.

Let me understand… You have a humidifier inside the tent, and a dehumidifier outside the tent? If that is the case…

  1. Make sure it is a cool mist type humidifier and
  2. Only use distilled water in it - otherwise you will get a residue on your plants

The ideal humidity for your grow changes over time and with temperature. You want higher during veg, and lower later. Use this VPD chart to find your target humidity for your temperature based on week of flower:

yes you can over do it…you want to maybe keep it around 65%RH no higher…this will slow the dry time down and will not cause mold to form…

Did I completely misunderstand? Is this for drying and not for growing?

morning @GrnyGrows and all…

I use the chart and only have a humidifier in the drying tent to allow buds to dry properly. In the grow room I fight humidity constantly. I’m using a wicking humidifier… is that bad?

That’s what I thought. I’ve got it at 68 degrees and 66% today.

Yes. It’s just a drying tent. I grow in a regular room we built in our shed. The tent is inside the room. I don’t have anywhere in the RV (my house) that stays cool enough, dark enough or humid enough to dry.

Morning all – yes, it’s still morining – early morning for me.

Should be OK, as long as it doesn’t leave a residue on the buds.

Argh. Residue. OK, I have to look for a cool mist model. The $$$ just keep flowing into the Green Room, as I call ilt.
