Green shoot coming out of bud

I’m pretty damn close to harvest, but noticed these bright green “shoots” coming out from the bud. I’ve never seen these before, but it’s only my third grow. I’ve got a normal pic and microscope pic of one of them. Any thoughts?

Those are nanners. Male parts.

Very pretty bud but as @BobbyDigital said, your plant has turned hermie on you.
Sad but true.

Well, shit. I’m in Week 10 of flower and this is the first sign of anything male at all. Is it salvageable or ruined?

It is late in flower, worst case some immature seeds would be my guess. Remove them to smoke or vape. Could also make some edibles with it.

Very salvageable. Likely a local pollination so you may find a few seeds in that bud but it shouldn’t have transferred to the rest

So should I let it finish or go ahead and chop?Like I said, she’s 10 weeks into flower, and I thought she would be done, but no ambers to be seen

Finish her out, no harm, happy growing

Thank you, it’s been a very smooth grow with no issues. She’s gotten really deep purple the last two weeks

@Jmky105 ,Sorry I didn’t see the nanners, you’ll be OK like @BobbyDigital advised. He knows his stuff. Some people harvest the bud in question, and let the rest finish. But Please try to forget the # of weeks. Let the plant decide the timing not the seed salesman. Beautiful plant!

I’ve pulled most of them out, but they’re pretty much in every cola at this point. Does that change anything with waiting longer to cut her down?

Gorgeous plants, nice work. :+1:

It can be a signal that she’s at the end of her road, sometimes it’s a last ditch effort by the plant to preserve its genetics. Feminized seeds are probably more prone to it, genetically, since it’s basically how they’re created.

As the gardener it’s your decision. This is a tough one. Do you wait for more amber, at the risk of more seeds?

Yeah, that’s definitely my dilemma. There is visual new bud growth and new white pistols which makes me want to wait, but damn, these nanners are coming in everywhere.

I have had two hermies, one full blown male flowers and pollen everywhere, luckily she was alone in the closet, and i had a timer screw up cause that at about 2 weeks into flower, i finished her and had great weed but hundreds of seeds. Last grow I had a gold leaf pop nanners in last week of flower and went ahead and harvested. But after harvest i am finding little white seeds in at least 50% of the buds, so I didn’t know she had hermied for at least 2 weeks or more! But it is really nice weed, just seeds lol

It’s surely a note for the journal. This batch of seeds, turned colors at 8 weeks, banners at 10, harvested at, ? With 90% milky zero amber?

Maybe it wanted to be fed longer to finish right, or it didn’t like the cold snap in Feb? Maybe it got confused after it warmed back up and thought it wanted to keep growing instead of finish? If you like the strain and try it again, it’s good to have those notes.

Yeah, I’m taking notes for sure. It’s a ilgm white widow fem. I’ve grown these before and I have never had one turn purple or herm. BUT, I did train the shit out of this one during veg. Not sure if that stress was too much, and that’s why it hermed. Temp and humidity has been pretty much in range. This was my first run of beanstalk nutes, maybe they got used up too soon.

I eat the seeds as they are supposed to be high in omega 3. The immature ones because they require at least 6 weeks to mature on the plant. Which won’t happen at Week 10.

Immature seeds tend to be white in color. :+1:
