top one has grown foxtails…this is caused by stress or genetics…
i did bend that one pretty hard trying to open it up. are the beds from these always light and airy? looks like a lot but weighs very little.
they normally have less dense buds or maybe smaller ones …treat them like sugar leaves when looking at trichomes for harvest determination
Thanks I appreciate the help
Welcome to the neighborhood
beautiful foxtaling I ever see
What does fox tailing look like? Heard a bit about it here but never seen it. Cant really tell from the pic.
That actually looks really cool I’d put it on our dining room table
Interesting! So this is caused by stress?
Foxtailing usually goes hand in hand with heat stress though right?
Foxtailing is caused by excess light/heat. Minor foxtailing will be the plant throwing out white pistils to the end of harvest which im sure every1 here including me has experienced one time or another.
I did double the light when the plants started to bud. That plant shot up fast and I tried to train it to the side, bent the stalk. I was freaking out thinking I had somehow fertilized it and those were seed pods ( not that hundreds of free seeds would be bad, i just really need this to work for my medication first).
Im in my second gdp grow. The buds on the first on were pretty average size. My impression was they could be tighter. Looked like more weight than it was. Great smoke though! Wasn’t sure whether the lighter buds were due to my lighting the first time or just genetics.
So upped my lighting game. This time started learning about DLI and the photone app! Have not yet had my lights at 100% had them on 90%, but got a bit freaked out lol. Got just over 400 LED watts in the tent for the 1 plant. Kicked it down to 65% with the DLI at around 55 at canopy. Despite an apparent mutation on this girl, shes popping off some pretty decent buds.so far! Got about2 to 3 weeks I’d guess before harvest…cant wait to see if i got it any better.
my first grow, so all new. Just pulled a few buds from the curing jar( need more time) after a week, still a little greeny tasting but good enough to calm the demons in my head. Took way longer than I thought, trying a dosido seed now.
Have your heard of the “grove bags” for curing? A lot of people here have switched to them instead of mason jars. Using a wood moisture meter to determine if its dry enough… i have never done it any other way and I’ve been pretty pleased… no jar burping and they self regulate humidity inside the bag at or near 62%. Do a search here for more info, but be prepared to find threads thousands of posts long! But its not buried too deep…
Remember rock dog, alot of light will cause foxtailing. Its strange because this time around for me i got very minor foxtailing, BUT i also got a tiny bit of bud bleaching. Ppfd barely was breaking a 1000. Not sure if the gdp can not handle as much light as some other strains being a 100% indica.
wanted to let you know how everything turned out after all is said and done. Most importantly, this will definitely be good enough to suit my medicinal needs. The overall effect for the regular plant is very pleasant, even if the tastes a little green (hopefully curing helps with this). The plant that foxtailed has a completely different color , taste, and effect, still very nice, just different. Overall yield looks like a ton of weed, but i think looks are deceiving. It does tend to smoke a little fast . My next headache will be Dosido ( first seeds I got were bad, waiting on a germination pad to start) total time plant to harvest was 114-131 days that felt like six months. Any pointers on keeping seedlings alive?
