Sunday Sep 29, 2024. Day 28. Looking good. I’m using a reptile heat bulb on a timer and allowing a big day/night swing in temp and RH. Day 81 degrees and 53%. Night 72 degrees and 68%.

Thursday Oct. 3, 2024. Day 32. Transplanted GDP2 and GDP3 from 1 gallon to final 5 gallon pots. Root balls look good. Set up watering halos. GDP1 is the spare, thru no fault of her own.

Sunday Oct. 6, 2024. Day 35 (5 weeks above ground). Temps and humidity 82 degrees 56% day, 71 degrees 68% night. PH/EC/PPM In 5.9/1100/550. Out too high at EC/PPM left 2336/1167, right 2446/1223. Reservoir 4 gallons rainwater, 3.0g CalMag, 6.0g Jack’s part A, 2.0g Epsom, 4.0g B, about 1ml PH Down. EC with just Calmag 168. No silica for now. Watering just once daily for now. Lotsa runoff. Some yellowing and brown spots on lower leaves.

Wed Oct 9, 2024. Day 38. Both plants have reached net 14 inches above soil level. No additional topping planned. I just plan to use the net to spread out the tops. Input PH/EC/PPM 5.9/1250/625. Runoff EC/PPM trending down: left 1600/800, right 1720/860. Raised light a bit. DLI at net 40. Some leaves on both plants have brown spots. Both are lighter green than I like.

I still haven’t culled the spare.

Sunday Oct 13, 2024. Day 42. Cleaned up bottom 6 inches. Set up a second fan so now there’s one oscillating fan above the canopy and one fan down low.

Thursday Oct 17, 2024. Day 46. Both plants look good. Brown spots on leaves did not spread. Reduced Calmag to 0.5g/gal. Input PH/EC/PPM 6.2/1390/695. Timer set to fertigate twice daily. Runoff checked once daily: EC/PPM pretty stable left 1874/937, right 1776/888. I supercropped two branches today and added green garden wire to five branches to even out canopy. I plan to flip light to 12/12 very soon.

Friday Oct 18, 2024 Day 47. Almost 7 weeks from sprout. Removed more fan leaves. Flipped light timer to 12/12 so I’ll call today the last day of veg and tomorrow the first day of flower.

They are looking great.

Wednesday Oct 23, 2024 Day 52. Day 5 since flip. Runoff EC/PPM over past week was as high as 2230/1115, but I have gradually pulled it down. Today: Input 1200/600. Runoff left 1672/836. Runoff right 1814/907. Hope to maintain. Stretching. I wish I had trained more like @patrick1960, because his canopy is beautifully even. I laid on the second net this morning.

Sunday Oct 27, 2024 Day 56, Flowering day 9. Right hand plant stretched 6 inches above net. Tied down 5 branches. Branches are very pliable, I guess because I’m not adding any silica yet. DLI 30. Both plants look great.

Wednesday Oct 30, 2024 Day 59. Day 12 from 12/12 flip. Ideal leaf color everywhere. More stretch. Now starting silica (Pro-Tekt) at 5ml for 4 gallon batch. It’s been dry in Northern Virginia so my rain barrel is almost empty. I may be switching to our “moderately hard” tap water soon.

Yep super dry in DMV, had to water some of my outdoor plants. But the temp and humidity I am loving. I have been leaving both tents open all day, conditions are near perfect.

Sunday Nov 3, 2024 Day 63 Flower 16. Stretch continues. Plants are 38” and 41” above media. I decided to change my light timer and fertigation timers to Eastern Standard Time. So they got the full 12 hours of darkness last night but will get just 11 hours of light today. Now that Im adding silicate to the reservoir, my PH is weird. But plants look great, so I’m trying to not overreact.

Friday Nov. 8, 2024 Day 68 and 21 days since 12/12 flip. I think the stretch is over, leaving the tallest buds 40” (left) and 45” (right) above the coco. Did a final defoliation this morning. Plants look great.

Friday Nov 15, 2024. Day 75. 28 days since flip. Upper leaves are a lighter green than lower. Might be light stress…I will watch. I goofed yesterday AM. After cleaning the reservoir, I confused the electrical plugs for the fertigation timer and the reservoir stir timer. So the two plants got 4 gallons in the 6PM watering. And the fertigation pump ran four times in an empty reservoir. Happily my runoff bins caught it all. If I were still using saucers then they would have overflowed.

Saturday Nov. 23, 2024. Day 83. 36 days since flip. Input PH/EC/PPM 6.2/1470/735. Upper leaves have changed back from light green to a good green over the last week. Runoff PH/EC/PPM is left 4.2/1632/816 and right 6.3/1880/940. I dunno why the runoff is consistently so acidic on the left. CocoForCannabis recommends not paying attention to runoff PH. And since both plants look good, I plan to take no corrective action on PH. Hoping for a New Years Day harvest.

Saturday Nov 30, 2024 Day 90. 43 days since flip, which I call beginning of week 7. A scattered few pistils are amber. I worried about the runoff acidity of the left hand plant, so I flushed both plants this AM with tap water + 10ml FF Sledgehammer, followed by regular fertigation. This weekend is cold outside, so I must empty the outdoor rain barrels and switch the grow to tap water. I measure the tap water EC/PPM today as 430/215.
Plants look and smell good.

Saturday Dec. 7, 2024 Day 97, 50 days since flip so I call it beginning of week 8. Yesterday PH/EC/PPM input 6.5/1346/673.

Runoff left 3.9/1360/689 (yikes on PH). Left plant has dark green leaves with slightly burnt tips. Pistils 25% brown.

Runoff right 7.1/1350/675. Right plant has dark green leaves except many upper leaves yellowing with brown spots. Pistils 10% brown.

It’s weird that runoff PH is so different left and right. Same strain, pots, media. My setup last year made flushing tedious because the saucers had limited capacity and runoff removal with the shop vac was awkward. My current setup makes flushing very easy. So I flushed again this AM with 4 gallons tap water and 10ml Sledehammer. My plan now is to stop checking runoff PH.

Sunday Dec. 15, 2024. Day 105, 58 days since flip so beginning week 9. Feeding PH/EC/PPM 6.3/1366/683. 5ml silica every other 5 gallon batch of water. Left plant 50% brown pistils. Right plant 30% brown pistils. Right plant some upper leaves yellowing. I’m letting temps in the tent drop to 60 degrees F at night to encourage purple color. The only cola showing any purple is pictured.
