In general, defoliate only as necessary to maintain good airflow within a plant’s canopy. Your plant has ample airflow and it needs every leaf it has to manufacture the sugars the plant needs to grow.

You would do more harm that good defoliating that plant Growmie. I see no issues with light penetration or air flow

Are you trying this plant using the nebulas manifold or Nug Buckets mainline? Nebulas manifold is quicker with one less topping

I only do 2 toppings on the Nebula. The first above the 3rd and removing all lower growth then the 2nd topping on the 2nd node of the 2 side branches

My bad i only did 2 the taller plant i didn’t remove anything below the 2nd topping smaller plant i remove the 2nd nodes an left the 1st and 3rd

How tall do you want them to be at end of flower stretch.
I ask because if you flip now they will be short.

When you flip to flower they will double in hieght. So I would say let them get at least 1.5 feet tall before 12/12.
This is a guess because sometimes they get a little taller than double. Not much. Sometimes they stay a little shorter that double. I think most common. You never know. I plan on the shorter. Mostly because they can always be super cropped to bring hieght down but you can’t add to them.

Sure mainlining makes them shorter. Then you have to let them grow again. Then in flower they will double in size. Im training a couple today I’ll post pictures.

Looking good. Let them get between 16 to 18 inches tall flip to 12/12 and you should come out with plants between 30 and 36 inches tall at end of flower stretch.
I don’t exactly mainline. I just tie down. As you can see from my pics. Call it a Frankensteiner.
From what I’ve seen with mainline they generally go with 8 or 12. You still need the height though.
Maybe @Growdoc will come in with some true mainline help.

I don’t go by nodes, just height and health to determine when I flip. I manifold to get a certain number of tops. My current Pancakes grow , I’m going to have 12 mains and tops. I usually lollipop the bottoms as well to keep larf and small buds down. Current ones were manifolded to six branches, then those were topped at second node and first nodes were cut off. The cuts were made into clones.
I’ll post some pics tomorrow of the recovery and growth, they are growing like I fed them rocket fuel!
Imagine what 12 tops like these will yield per plant!
