@SilentHippie you tha’ man! Great explanation of photos and autos! It’s folks like you that made my first grow last year go as it did.
@ybnorml look into getting some Fox Farms soils. There a lot of folks here that use it with great success. Start the sprouts in Happy Frog and then into Ocean Forest for their final home. The OF is a little more “hot” than the HF. It’s available on Amazon, or if you have a local hydro store, talk to them. Many of the hydro stores carry it and some of the other things you may need along the way. They can be a great resource as well. You have to kind of talk in circles with them if you are not in a 420 friendly state like me, but they get it.
I’m too new to be of any help but I wanted to thank you for your service and apologize for a country that screws it’s Vets
Wishing you the best of luck my friend:v:t3:
I use a one bag of Happy Frog to one bag of ocean forest and I mix it all together and put them in 5 gallon buckets.
Like you I usually grow one or two of a few different strains of Medicine that way I can make some of them daytime meds and some of them nighttime meds. I love variety. I go for those feminized ilgm mix packs. They’re good deal and you get to try 3 different kinds at once.
Good luck and enjoy your grow. Remember any questions just post them. Have a good morning.
Yes, and furthermore you can scrog whatever you want. Indica, sativa it doesnt matter. You can make them to the same height also by scrogging them together. So many options that they are almost endless ![]()
Thanks Fairieswear8oots
Just an FYI, if you put the @ symbol in front of the persons name, it will “tag” them with a notification.
Hello. I am a fresh noobie for anything to do with marijuana. Using it or growing. The first batch I bought came with four seeds and I though why should I pay for it when I can grow my own. Anyway, as a first time grower, I have some questions. One thing is how long after my seeds germinate should I put them in a container? Two of them already have broke through the seed husk and I am wondering when should I put them into a container. Another thing is how should it be before the husk opens up? The two that have done that already were put in a damp paper towel at the same time as the other two. Last question. The two that have germinated we’re a light to medium brown with no markings on them and sprouted in less than 36 hours. The other two are larger with a darker shade of brown and some black stripes. What are the differences? Thanks from a noobie.
Welcome, @1968CAmaROss. I would definitely get the ones with broken hulls into soil asap. The darker seed usually means it’s more mature. I suspect you’ll have no problems germinating them either.
Ok. Then I have another question. I don’t have hardly any money and a whole lot of small plant containers. And I have two bags of potting soil. The brand is bactto potting soil. Is that a good brand for this or no? And what type of fertilizer is good?
One other thing. What do you mean by the darker seeds are more mature? Is that good or bad?
I’m not familiar with that soil. Can you post a picture of the details as to the fertilizers on the back of the bag?
As far as the seeds, here is a very informative guide: How To Recognize Quality Marijuana Seeds A Few Easy Ways!
For example, in this picture the ones with some green, and the ones with a lot of light color are slightly immature. The darker ones with stripes or swirls are mature, and have the best chance of germinating and growing into productive plants.
Also, there are tons of guides on this site. I recommend reading through them and getting a good idea of what you have ahead of you so there are fewer surprises, hopefully none at all!
Just make sure that none of them are prone to disease I done this before but got spider mite from bad cuts that I bought. Ruined the rest of them.
