Germination, seedlings what is when?

3 feet? I would say more like 8-10" give or take depending on size of fixture and how close the bulbs are.

kk will do and thanks again for all your input. i spent 35 on a hygrometer. treehouse has one coming for me but it’s not here yet, but figured i’d need two, one for each tent so i bought it and will put it in area so i know what’s going on. also got extension cords, multi plug outlet strip, and stuff like that. @dbrn32

Cool. Put it something like that and watch how plants respond. If they stretch lower.

@HJL you use something like 5 bulb splitter with similar bulbs right? Any input on heights for seedlings?

@dbrn32 I use 7 bulb splitters for veg and flower. For seedlings I use 2 LED bulbs about 6 inches above them.

That’s with diffusers removed and a single seedling right?

@dbrn32 That is correct.

Cool thanks! Thinking if you had a small group of seedlings more bulbs at similar height would be in order.

@monkman I like to keep them at least 24 inches away at first. You can get away with keeping them closer with flourescent bulbs like T10s but LEDs have relatively little heat too. Then I begin I drop the light an inch or two a day. A safe bet is LED and/or flourescent bulbs for seedlings and clones. As they grow a second and third node then you switch to a higher wattage light system. I’m leaving the 250HPS in my tent until the summer because it’s in the basement and the girls like the heat! But I plan to use LEDs from start to finish in the future!

Happy Growing!
