Furious. Absolutely furious, and heart broken. Unhealthy plant - Can it heal?

Was quickly called out of the country late November. I just returned this afternoon. Had my dog sitter make sure the plants were watered appropriately. I have a timer on my lights, and used FF - Ocean Forest, so I was semi-comfortable with the nutes. All I needed/asked the sitter to do was water every 3-4 days. He claimed that he did, and many texts included “plants are looking great” or “smells amazing” or “getting tall”.

Well, almost the first thing I did when i returned, aside from getting snuggles and love from my dog, was to go check on the plants. Welp, its a failure… IMO, a total, loss.

So, by looking at the picture below, do i cut my losses, and just scrap them? Cut what buds I have (might be enough for a single roll) - Or does anyone think there could be a way to “save” it, or make it flourish this late in the stage.

These plants look like they were starving for light, so not sure your dog sitter is 100% to blame.

You’ll have to get a look at pistils and trichomes to see if this is ready for harvest. But I think it’s a little late to do much more with. What size tent is this and what do you have in it for lights?

Some deal I found off amazon. Here is the link.

This was the first time I used my tent (5x2) and lighting/exhaust. So I would not rule out bad lighting, I suppose. I also put the lighting timer on a 16/8 light schedule.

I wasnt totally blaming my sitter - because all I did was ask for him to water them.

Thank you for the input. I may have to cut my losses on this, and then look at lighting upgrades.

Welcome.
That would not be a good choice in my opinion for a light. Look at HLG lighting.
Indoor grow lights would be the most important piece of equipment For growth and also solid buds . If you don’t have something to place back in the spot I would probably try to save the plant.
Good luck :v:

These lights are marketed in a way that overstates their performance. I would look to upgrade this as even with all the attention in the world this light won’t produce to the capabilities you’re probably expecting.

There’s not a lot of lights specifically designed for a 2x5 tent but there are a couple. Hlg 350r would be a good choice. There is potentially some available on discount at the the refurbished section and there is almost always some sort of discount code available for at least 10% off. You could probably find some smaller lights that two of them would be a good fit as well.

I have a bestva 300w myself. It sits in storage mostly. I use it for special needs.
That being said that light will start and finish 1 plant very well. I have done single plants with mine with great success. Both switches on. All the way. Run as close as heat allowed. Low end lights but perfectly fine for 1 plant if used correctly. I suggest an upgrade. Till then 1 plant. Light close.
Mine is in use in a 32"×32" tent holding mothers till I dig out some qboards from storage. Last GG4 grown with it had a main as long as my arm. As soon as the global warming we are going through right now is over it returns to storage till next call. I suggest you budget a medium-high end light as your main purchase. 5 year investment.

Light is 200 watts. One plant light but you could train it to fit a 2x2 footprint and get a dli that will finish good buds. The more area it has to cover the weaker the light will be.
Look for 35-45 watts per square foot to fill a tent with weed.

Thank you. I will be looking at lighting upgrades.

What would you do to try and save this plant? Immediately get it a better light?

Not sure it is worth trying to save. Plant another and just let it sit by the 1 during seedling stage. Let the other just ripen. I would not waste resources on it.

If I was doing one of those 2 plants it’s not the stretchy one. Without a light tool center the light over one plant on veg and hang 18 inches. Start at 50% and watch for curling/praying leaves/ level leaves. Look for burning tips. New growth is brighter than old growth. Temps above 75 more like 82-85. Appropriate humidity for whatever temp you can manage. Nutes and water as needed .

Go for it

Foliage on the plant looks unhappy.Check the PH run off and also if not already PH feed and water.
