What is mycorrhizae fungi? anybody? Is it beneficial?
Yes, very beneficial.
It helps to feed the plants and support microorganisms in the soil. The fungus extends the capability of the roots to extract nutrients and supports a beneficial environment for soil helpers. Some soils come with it(happy frog by foxFarms is one) or you can buy it as an additive.
Very beneficial. You can get samples of DynoMyko or Xtreme Mykos for like $8. I use it when i load coco, when i plant, when i transplant and put a sprinkle in molasses/microbe teas.
It is something I’ve just recently heard of and started using myself and see a noticeable difference, if you would like to truly get an understanding of fungi and you haven’t seen it yet watch the documentary called “Fantastic Fungi” on Netflix it’ll cover mycorrhizal fungi in fair detail. ![]()
If you haven’t seen it WATCH IT! I learned about some fantastic things about our amazing ecosystems. Also, that bourbon is fungi fermented corn… incredibly informative.
It’s a fungus that creates a symbiotic relationship with the roots and the soil.
One of the mycologists is Paul Stamets, basis for a character on Star Trek Discovery.
Just a fun little fact
I wasn’t aware of that. Fungi really is amazing…
