When it comes to flushing im lazy to be honest. Sometimes if a grow is going well at week 6 i dont even do it. For example im in week 6 on sour diesel auto and white og photo rite now. Plants are lookin wonderful so im prolly gonna let it ride till week 8 and do a heavy preharvest flush and hit it with flawless finis for a week before 48hr dark.
I was always taught to flush about flower+4 or 5 weeks. I i usually do but last couple grows have gone great and ive skipped it.
Questions for everyone…
1 What do you do?
2 is flushing best on a schedule, based on ppm, or when plant symptoms suggest it?
3 have i just been lucky last few grows or is flushing a prevenative technique that is largly unnessesary?

If I’m using organic nutrients or supersoil I won’t flush but I will if I’m using stuff like fox farm nutes. The salt buildup tanks the ph so I follow their flush schedule of every 4 weeks and hate every moment of it.

@BobbyDigital. I used to use FF nutes, did general hydro for a time. Im using emerald harvest now and it seems to need it less.

Yeah fox farms is one of the few that actually call for it.
Emerald harvest doesnt mention it anywhere. That ive seen anyway.

Using canna nutrients, then switching to jacks after I use it all, I won’t be flushing with either. Unless there’s an issue.
I start my flush about 10 days before I expect to harvest, and the amount and frequency of waterings is based on my runoff PPM’s. It usually starts in the range of 1400 or so. After I run the first 5 gallons through them, it’s usually below 1000, and then steadily down from there every few days until I get under 300. I used to use Sledgehammer by FF. Then I used plain Yucca root from NPK Industries for a while, now I’m using Flawless Finish by AN, and it seems to be working the best. Might be in my head, but i could swear the top colas are fattening up much more than i ever remember in the final week.
I use flawless finish also. Seems to really work.
