Flowering Plant Stretchy and Leaning

I’ve had this with a couple of photoperiods now, branches almost 3 feet long and last night after putting on a bit more weight, the branches started flopping over. They are now gently supported by strings & wires hanging from the ceiling. My question is, is there an optimum light placement or light ramping schedule that will prevent the branches from stretching so much that they can’t support the weight of the buds? Plant seems healthy, it’s just top heavy and will likely get heavier since I trimmed extra branches off before flipping in hopes that I’d get fewer, larger colas.

Thanks,

Tom

Can use plants stakes instead of wires. Better.

They are stretching for the light. You could add a scrog. what kind of light do you have? You can download the app photone to get the dli for your light

Upon further reflection, I think I let her stretch out too much prior to flipping. She was in the same closet as another plant that was two weeks ahead of her. When flip time came, she stretched even more and is now in full marionette mode. I’ll try that app on my next grow. I’m using Maxisun MF2000 lights.

You could use wood dowels or something like it. Or a scrog net. She is stretching for light.

You could also use a PVC set up. Its really easy to make and not to costly. This will allow you to keep using the PVC and scrog net till you can’t
Grow no more. Something to think about.

Yes, It’s time for a PVC set up. Hanging wires for one plant is ok, but for a 2x4 closet space it will be a mess.
