My second posting- Would like some help from the great resources in this forum in understanding how quickly things progress from now to harvesting. Quick summary of my grow: Indoor grow, 4 plants, 2 pure sativas (Durban Poison), 2 indica dominant hybrids (LSD), growing in coco/perlite under LED lights, using GH Flora series nutes, following Nebula Haze’s (growweedeasy) feeding recomendations. I’ve had NO problems, plants have been healthy, no leaf issues - pics attached.
I am just starting week 5 of flowering (since the flip to 12/12.
I know I need to wait until I see the pistils turn amber and inward, and then monitor the trichomes on the buds to change to milky white for peak THC. And I know I need to flush the coco, which I think can be flushed in about a week when in coco, before harvesting.
What I don’t understand is how long it takes for the pistils to change to the level for harvesting, AND how long for the trichomes to change from clear to milky, AND when in this process should I start the flushing?
Thanks in advance for sharing your expertise!
Nice frosty buds you got there.
Unfortunately that varies wildly from plant to plant. Sometimes it takes weeks to go from white to brown pistils and sometimes it seems to happen overnight. Some strains never really seem to get amber trichs. As for flushing, I don’t do that. I feed right up to harvest.
Hi there. You are probably in week 3 of flower. This is where the patience comes in. I do photos and always figure 5 months total from seed to chop chop. If it’s a few days or weeks off, just look at the trichs to be sure. I have to ask others if mine are ready cuz I want all cloudy and the highest thc. Every one of these ladies will surprise you.
You mentioned you have both sativas and indicas. Sativas take much longer than indicas, so there’s no real way to answer your question with any degree of accuracy, but for indicas, things start ramping up around week 6 to harvest which will be approximately 8 to 10 weeks. Sativas typically take around 12 weeks.
