Hey looking for help understanding my trial and error with my first couple attempts with indoor tent grow.so far at 2weeks since germination all sprouted and have since stunted possibly, the colys started going yellow/pale/light green which started to transfer to new top leaves of sprouts. Possible overwatering but am only keeping soil moist and watering every couple days(with mist bottle). Ph of soil is 7 and watering with 6.5ph water. Though starter organic soil could be the problem. Last time i used super soil for seedlings which i understand was a mistake but they grew well before taking a dive, this time i put in organic potting mix but didnt seem to grow at all. I may be being impatient but also know ive missed something.I have a couple photos but poorly taken lol, any thoughts?
Also my issue last time was enviromental control, temperatures were to high and have since this time introduced ac to tent with temps at 26degrees and humidity 50-70%. Ventilation is inline fan with carbon filter with one vent open and two tower fans on low.
These are photos of the first ones before i ripped and started again, they were showing signs of heat stress or nutrient toxicity which i beleived to be using super soil to early hence using organic mix this time though met with minimal results
Seedlings require a high humidity environment. Mist the inside of a clear solo cup and place it over them and water around the cup every 3 days or so with a shot glass amount of water .Remove the dome daily for some fresh air and to remist the dome. What seedling mixture is that and make sure there’s drain holes in the starter cups for drainage
Ok thank you, i have humidifier in tent and Rh is averaging at 60% though ac is taking it down alot so its fluctuating. Will try and cover as you have suggested to make sure they are well humid. Honestly the soil is just an organic potting mix, which is rookie mistake.
Seedlings will thrive with temps at 78-82 and RH 65-75%
Awsome mate thanks for the help and advice
Anytime Grow Bro
watering pattern appears needing reversing. Water away from stalk/stem. make roots seek out moisture.
Your pictures show dark surrounding seedlings and light (presumably, dry soil) on outsides.
Forum search DOME WATERING for more explanations. You got the hard part done and keep up the good grow. Additionally, some forum postings support seedlings not getting drowned (require less water than we think).
Makes sense, ill check out dome watering, just starting out with alot to learn. thanks for taking time and giving some knowledge mate.
Not my first rodeo, but in this forum, I am a Grasshopper, learning to walk on Rice Paper, from the Masters. Please, can we skip the burned Shaolin Master Insignia Ritual. I spend daily time reading because out on this forum posters contribute information which will become important, some day, if not yesterday. 50 years “experience” in environmental control of environments, and until yesterday, while reading a post about cooling the heat sinks, that I know to be true, and paid the price for plenty of times.
(including paid $1000.00, for heat sink problems in 2001). I moved one stationary tent fan from the ladies up to the HLG350R heat sink, from a distance of 15’, and gee, imagine my surprise, the tent, that’s my flower tent, runs cooler. I lowered the oscillating tower fan for compensation.
