So I am trying indoors for the first time and for whatever reason, good or bad, I decided to do hydroponics and coco coir. I have grown outdoors many times with good success but indoors and hydroponics is all new to me. I took some time and pieced together a set up over a few months buying things when I saw a “deal”. I either bought stuff new and never used but second hand or brand new. I ended up with a 10x10 Gorilla grow tent, 4 regular auto pots and 4 of the extra large auto pots, two 6” 452 cfm inline fans and charcoal filters, one SpectrumKing Closet Case 140, one Iluminar iL8 led light, and two BC Blondes Gamechanger 340’s as well as some small clip on fans a pedestal fan dehumidifier and humidifier if needed. I am using Canna coco coir and General Hydroponics fertilizers. Our city water here is terrible and very hard, so I also bought a reverse osmosis system and am running RO water.
Currently my seedlings are in biodegradable non woven nursery bags and under the 140 closet case which is 24” above them and running 18/6 schedule. They were in bottle domes until today for humidity. I am watering with a large syringe twice a day about 10 ml each time with a nutrient solution of 400 ppm on a 0.5 scale and ph’d to 6.2. Temp in the room is between20 and 22 Celsius.
So the seedlings don’t seem to look the best they seem a little yellow and I noticed today the leaves on one were starting to curl up. Hopefully I have given enough info and with the pictures you guys can give me some help and guidance. Thanks in advance.
The ones with the twisting leaves might be ready to be transplanted into solo cups now until they have 3 sets of true leaves and then into one gallon pots and so on. Are you watering to runoff each time? You’re in the perfect size bags for seedlings so don’t worry about overwatering
I will agree with @MattyBear the longer ones and the ones with leaves that are starting to curl probably needs to be transplanted into solo cups, just remember to bury them down in there a little bit. Other than that not looking to bad! Good luck and cant wait to see some big colas on them girls.
@Ta2ude Unfortunately, I have never grown in co co and have only been growing indoors probably getting close to the 6 month mark but, like you I have grown a s**t pile of weed outside guerilla style. I agree with @MattyBear and @CoyoteCody . Usually a good rule of thumb is when the leaves reach the perimeter of the container, time to transplant/up pot. Like @CoyoteCody said, be sure to bury them down a bit so the ones that are getting lanky don’t have such long trunks or you will have to stake them up until they get strong enough to support themselves. I have never grown in co co, I usually put mine in solo cups after they sprout tails in the shot glasses that I soak them in and when the leaves reach or get close to the perimeter/outer edge of the solo cups I then transplant/up pot to their forever home. Personally, I don’t like to transplant/up pot more than once, if I can avoid it, although there are many that transplant/up pot multiple times with great success. Just my opinion. I use to have the same issue or at least I think so. Do you mist the domes or have a good collection of condensation on them? I always did and the water droplets off the dome would fall on my leaves and it made them look just like yours. I let a little more air in and started wiping the domes a few times a day. The RH under the dome would stay were needed and my plants didnt look like that. I hope I helped. I am just guessing here due to my experiences.

Tonight I transplanted into larger nursery bags that are about the size of a solo cup. I dropped the seedlings down deeper and removed the domes as they no longer fit over the new bags. I watered with 400ppm and PH’d to 5.8 this time round.
That sounds perfect man. If you keep you RH in the tent up for the babies perfect. If you cant they will still grow. To be honest I never dome any more. I turn my RH up in the tent to 70% or higher. The plants seem to take off a little faster that way. I grow mostly in coco. A very good choice for a new indoor grower. So easy to monitor and correct without the fears of over watering. My plants get much bigger in coco too.
Are you familiar with training your plants? LST? It is an indoor growers best friend. Keeps my biggest only about 3 ft tall. And still pull off good amount of zips at the end.
I am very familiar with LST as well as Manifolding/mainlining and have been looking into super cropping and lolly popping as well. I have currently built a little scrog set-up for this grow.
So I ended up putting a big dehumidifier in the tent to keep the humidity up. I have it hooked up to an Inkbird controller set up to keep the room between 65 and 70 percent RH. Watering 30 ml twice a day with a large syringe directly at the base of the seedling at 400 ppm and PH 5.8.
I didn’t want to spend money on seeds first time round since the likelihood of failure is so high, so I am using seeds that I found in a few different bags of nice herb. My one and only Blue Dream seedling is looking the worst right now which is unfortunate as I really enjoyed the bud it came from. The other ones also seem to be showing signs that look like examples of CalMag issues I’ve seen but I may be totally wrong ?
I have been mixing my General Hydroponics nutrients according to a guide on coco for cannabis…
CalMag 5 ml
Flora Micro 1.25 ml
Flora Grow 0.6 ml
Flora Bloom 0.6 ml
RO Water 1 gallon
Then I dilute solution to 400 ppm and adjust PH to 5.8
Does this sound about right ?
In coco, and small bags meant for seedlings like you’re in right now, you should be watering to a small amount of runoff every day. I bet they would take off if you practiced this method
They said 16X20 CM but I haven’t measured them. They are about the size of a solo cup or a little bigger, I can fit my clenched fist inside an empty bag.
