Thanks in advance for taking a look at my issue. I’m on Day 21 breaking through the soil. I have four autos going, ( 4 different strains, and Yes I’m a newbie and know now that probably isn’t ideal LOL ) - Anyway, All my plants looking pretty good, but one has some leaves with these little yellow dots.
I’m in a 4x4 indoor tent. I try to keep my VPD close to 1. Temps usually around 78, Humidity around 60%. I’m using advanced nutrients and ph’ing tap water to 6.0.
Lights are around 350 PPFD and I’m running these autos with 24 hours of light.
I’m a newbie too, just finishing my first grow. But, I got concerned when I had the same thing happen. It all being on the lower leaves, and the way it looks, I would say it’s just burns from water splashing on them and the light burning in those spots. Just my thought.
Thanks for the reply Fishy. Hopefully that’s all it is. Seems very plausible!
Welcome aboard growmie! Glad to have you with us. I didn’t see mention of what type medium you’re using? Monitoring your pH will be the single most important thing to learn and keep in check throughout your grow. Soil likes to be in a range between 6.2-6.8 (6.5 being the sweet spot) and if using coco its 5.8.
Hey thanks for the welcome PhatPat. You know, I thought for sure I was missing some details when I wrote that lol. I’m using Foxfarm 70/30. I PH my water after mixing nutes to 6.0 - Should I also check the PH of the runoff? Should the runoff be at 5.8?
So thats coco coir, which is a soiless media. Honestly, i use soil so not to give you any bad info im going to request @OGIncognito help. I believe your input pH should be 5.8 but lets find out to be certain.
Thanks for the tag @PhatPat. Coco PH range is 5.8-6.2. For my coco grows in veg I like the PH at 5.8-6.0 and in flower I’ll change that up a bit and go 6.0-6.2. As long as you’re in range all will go well
Thanks for taking the time to reply. In order to test the PH of your Coco, do you test the run off, or are you taking a direct measurement into the media?
Check the run off Growmie. Feed daily or every other day…coco needs to remain moist. When feeding Using synthetic fertilizers make sure you get liberal run off 20-30% of what you’re putting in comes out the bottom. Let a good cup or so run out then catch and test a sample. Check your PPMs and PH
Welcome to the best grow community and knowledge. I’m a 3rd grow rookie so I’m not knowledgeable about this problem but good luck your definitely in good hands.
I had no clue that COCO needed to be moist. I had been using the knuckle test to make sure the media was try before watering. Every third day. I’ll bump that up to every two for now. Thanks for all this great info.
Anytime Grow Bro, keep me posted
SO I mixed my nutes to a PH of 6.1 last night and checked the runoff and the runoff was 5.8. So is the inline with what you suggest? Plants are looking super healthy. I had a friend over to show me how to defoliate so I did a little on a plant myself. Didn’t want to take too much off. Feel like these are growing pretty good for Day 25 from breaking through soil. Thanks for you input I really appreciate it.
Great input and run off numbers Growmie and keep that routine going. Very nice defoliation
Looking great @CarnivoreGreen
If you’re thinking about LST, now would be a good time to start. Just tie your branches to the sides of your pot pulling them down some. This will allow more light penetration to each one and also more airflow throughout. Off to a great start. Checking ppms and keeping pH in range will ensure success. Happy growing!!!
Im new as well. Im wondering to myself, how did you make this post? I cant figure out how to start a thread. I need help with my plan t w but cant figure out how to post. It’s actually very frustrating.
Hey @HighQuality , you just need to read a few posts, do some browsing in the forums and relatively fast you’ll get upgraded with the “New Topic” Button on the main page. Doesn’t take long either. I think I read through enough posts trying to figure out how to make a post myself and then I noticed the new button.
