First Time Grow Looking for tips pls :)

I think I should have held off on the gallon of water, they are starting to droop. Is that usually from over watering ?

I didnā€™t.

After that I got this.

The plants might not like getting a gallon of water. They are little guys and need small amounts of water. A gallon is for when they are really vegging or in flower. I could be wrong and donā€™t want to steer you wrong so Iā€™ll tag a couple others as well. I would like to see your plants thrive and grow into monsters! @Nicky @Bulldognuts @Covertgrower can you help gabe out?

That looks like you are giving an ok to give it a gallon of water. I may be interpreting it incorrectly

Just to be clear I didnā€™t give each plant 1 gallon each. I split the 1 gallon of water up to all 3 plants. Itā€™s not his fault itā€™s my own doing.

I guess I should have been clearer that only applied to really dry soil in which case 1 gal to a 5 gal pot is not excessive.

Just saying that overwatering is not good and newer people depend on others here to steer them in the right direction. We all want to see you with a great harvest.

All water under the bridge as it wereā€¦Letā€™s Grow Brandonā€¦
Sorryā€¦ :flushed: :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

For a seedling it is not for an older plant.

So going forward Iā€™ll just stick with spraying the base and/or using 4oz of water or less until the develop. Is there anything I can do in the interim to help them since they are sagging now?

I will add this for future grows if you are interested. They would make starting little ones off a lot easier for you. It is easier to judge how much you are watering them. And when they are ready for a final pot. You can just drop them into it. No transplanting necessary  I use the 6.3 x 7.1 bags. They are a perfect size for starting seedlings in.

My main concern was watering them to much or not enough. I think as far as spraying them a few times each day since the seed has shown up as been good. I wasnā€™t sure when I would make the transition from spraying to actually fully watering.

I also turned off my humidifier in hopes to force them to drink quicker.

Best thing to learn is to water by weight but for now you can burry your 2nd knuckle in, do you feel mosture? If you do then donā€™t water, doesnā€™t have to be damp just needs mosture. Dry wet cylce is good for the roots to stretch.

Very very easy to over wster in the first 2 weeks.

I never think to recommend the bags even though I use them every grow :man_facepalming:t2:. They are a great tool.

Good morning everyone. After turning off my humidifier and turning the light up a bit the girls look to be straightening out. Anything I should do with them now ? The bottles are almost getting to big for the plants.

A gallon of water properly applied to a 5 gal pot of bone dry dirt is just barely going to make it moist.
If you only spray a three inch circle around the base of the plant what do you think the roots do?

It would cause the roots to not search for water as far right? Going forward iā€™ll just water with about 4oz per plant and start from the edge of the pot in order to help the roots look for the water.

That is correct. As a matter of fact if you were to just spray a little on the top everyday the roots will grow up to meet it.

When did I say spray a three inch circle? I actually said a couple times water in a circle around the outside of the plant. There is never a time when a five day old seedling needs more then a few ozā€™s of water in my opinion. I donā€™t like spraying at all. If the environment is right it should be nice and humid in the dome they have on them.
