First timer here with growing , old timer with cannabis use though. I have my 4x4x7 grow tent and I am guessing two GG autos will be about right for my first grow, I just do not know the height and width they will get to? I am starting these two girls on November 1st with a daily/weekly log. I am some what nervous I just don’t want to have the whole thing be a train wreck. I have the fabric planting bags and I think and please correct me if I am wrong that I need to go no bigger than a 3 gal bag after 1st foliage starts then transplanting? I am using a 1000k LED two setting light, 18 hour humidifier, two clip on fans and one for pulling air out of tent.PH meters, tap water, distilled water. I am trying to do this task as a care taker and a hobby. I can grow up to 5 plants in my state.
Without knowing exactly which LED you have, I can only advise that you will need about 500 watts (for efficient LED’s, more otherwise) or so to get top notch results in flower. The amount of power at the wall is what you want to look at, don’t necessarily go by manufacturers equivalent wattage numbers.

That 1000k watt LED is more likely no more than 250 true watts. If you are lucky. For a proper grow and I advise you to save cash for way better lighting. Like 2 HLG 260xl rspec which is perfect for a 4x4 tent.
Also Autos don’t do what you want them to do. They do what they want, when they want. I find Autos to be completely worthless when it comes to the weight I pull off a Photoperiod. Plus the Photoperiods you have FULL control.
I love pulling 2+ lbs off three plants dried, cured and no stems.

I think you could do 5 autos in a 4x4 as long as you don’t have any physical issues with removing a plant or two to access rear pf tent. Most of them don’t open on both sides. I wouldn’t mess around with flowering under long light schedule though, that may invite keeping plants in veg longer than your space would allow.
Hey thank you for the reply, this being my 1st grow its just if I can get it off the ground, I will get into the photoperiod seeds and better lighting come spring even going to get some going outside late spring depending on weather. I do agree having better control on the grow using the photoperiod strains is a big plus
Oh don’t sweat it. You will still get good marijuana off that light. Just don’t be surprised that the buds are Airy. Real light but the quality is there.
I started with Viparspectra PAR600 light. I ran that from May 2018 to Nov 2019 when I jumped to the HLG lights. I haven’t looked back.
Now I get enough weight and I share some with a Cancer patient. And enough for my medical needs.
Also my first crops was a hard learning curve till I dialed my system in perfectly. I do grow Autos but they take just as long as Photoperiods. Both serve a purpose…you just gotta find your groove.
Its a cheap 100$ china LED, has two switches bloom and veg, the rating were fair on it but who knowes it may last one grow or many. Iplantop with a 24 month warranty from Amazon of course.

Run with both switches on. Your plants will need all the boost it can. Just adjust the height of the light. My Rule of Thumb is if my hand is over the plant and its hot on the hand, raise till its comfortable. And vice versa.
Unfortunately that is a 180 watt light.

Typical Amazon grow light. Probably good to flower up to 2x2 space.
Yea, new grower here…costing me money that’s hard to come by to learn the ins and outs for home growing…
I feel like we have all been there. Setting up a good running indoor grow is expensive. For the most part, you will get out what you put in. It’s perfectly fine to not have the fanciest equipment, but also very easy to fall into believing you can grow pounds on a couple hundred dollar budget. Just do the best you can with what you can afford and keep your expectations reasonable.

You should return it if you are within 1 month. I just did that and bought new quantum boards, and am thrilled with the results.
I got a bunch of that lamp for $80 each, but I will pay $100 for another if I need it. It’s 150 real watts and highly efficient 2.5 umol/w diodes. Not top of the line, but a great value at $80 and most likely a significant improvement on your lamp.
There are other brands of this type of lamp for similar prices. Look around Amazon and see if you can find a similar deal. You don’t have to keep the wrong lamp.
