All three Maui Wowie doing good! We’ve been 9 days since breaking soil and I’m feeling like they are growing like weeds!
Now since I used red solo cups I can’t see the root development and was considering maybe it’s time I start getting my next group of pots ready. I know it might be a big jump but my main idea will be to jump into the 5 gallon bags of FFOF and hope for the best.
I’d wait another week, just so they’re hardier, but you could transplant gently if you wanted to.
Going to a 5 gal next would stall above the soil growth for a while while they develop roots. But that’s about it.
Your girls are coming along nicely…I would agree with @Drinkslinger…
The girls are still growing strong. Still in their little cups for now. I have slight leaf curling but nothing major. Gonna hold off on watering again for a bit and see if they flatten out. I could also add a little more soil up on top if needed. It’s so nice to see how they change overnight lately. Can’t wait til they look all good and frosty like yours @Killadruid.
@dbrn32 how do you think I am for height of lights? Also I’ll be ordering another set of lights here soon making a 4 qb288’s hanging. Now with that the 2 should veg them til they’re a bit older but figured I need to get things coming.
Also does anyone use a digital camera to take pics? Was looking at getting a good lens to take as close up as possible. I do have a Nikon d3500 if anyone has recommendations?
I just use my phone and say “CHEeeeSE”
Works for me lol
Hahaha yeah. I’ve been doing that but I like the idea of more of the close up and seeing more. I doubt I’ll be able to see tric development but those extreme close up could really make some good art ![]()
I see you’ve been extremely busy as well on your journals just more of a silent observer. Keep it up!
No I think it’s a great plan!
Plants look pretty good as far as I can see.
Try to busy and make good buds lol. Thanks man appreciate that!
Took a peak at the girls when the light came on and seen on two cups I have roots coming out the bottom so I’m driving to buy a couple 1 gal plastic pots to transplant them in to tonight unless I should give them another day or two. @Jbum @Killadruid @Drinkslinger
Sorry are these autos or photos?
Maui wowie photos
If you’re seeing roots pop out the drainage hole, go for a transplant.
I find it easier when the soil is dry.
I think I’ve been a little water heavy so either I can transplant tonight and have lights on for about 5 hours after or else I can do it in the morning right when lights on and that way they can dry use that water the rest of that time?
I don’t think 12 hours will make much of a difference.
Everything went perfectly! Moved from red solo cups to the bigger pots. Roots were growing around the edges of the cup and were nice and healthy. FFOF Soil with nothing added. I watered around the otter edge on all the plants and didn’t water til runoff. I should hopefully see them perking up even more tomorrow! @Drinkslinger
15” away for the lights. @dbrn32
My fan is reading 80degrees and 56% humidity.
Now when I look at my next watering that’s when I’m going to want to start ph and tds checking? I just used distilled water as I haven’t calibrated my ph meter and all. Guess I’ll get on that ![]()
Is there anything I need to pay attention for as far as transplanting and change of soil type or signs I need to watch for? @Jbum @Killadruid
Looks like you are right on track brother! Just keep an eye on color/tips and any drooping. But they look great!,
Yup, I agree. Don’t be surprised if it takes day or two to perk up after transplant either. That’s pretty normal from transplant shock. Otherwise just keep doing what you’re doing
So I busted out my tds meter and calibrated my ph meter and found my tap water at 7.4 and 941 tds. I’m well water and have a water softener. I’m in FFOF only and so first question is due to the water softener and the tds should I look at mixing with distilled or go full ro water? Now when I do get water ready then this is when I need my ph down and I want my water going in at 6.5 ish I believe. @Drinkslinger @Jbum
Wow that seems super high. I’m on a well with a softer and mine runs 175?
