First indoor grow - ILGM Big Bud

RamRam,

This works great

Tabasco Juice recipe

Take 3 strong ciggeretes soak them over ! in water
Boiitl for 2 to 3 miniutes, let it cool off and spray the plants 3 to 4 times a week. You can add safer soap if you like to the mixture.
(make absolutly sure you use gloves/face protection while handling and spraying)
also add Hot Pepper the hotter the better add this to the boiling water.

Will.

Yes yes yes those nights are a pain in the ass I’m using soapy water the first remedy was vegetable oil and water didn’t work so I’m a go home later and see if the soapy water help if not I’m going to a drastic measure

Ya I haven’t had to deal with them yet.

End of 3 weeks.

There are about 10 bud sites at the moment.

Have done some mild lst but mostly just moving and tucking of branches as the plant is very bushy rather than tall. Which is fine as that means more room to grow upwards when I switch to 12/12. The 2 new nodes from where I did my topping are growing great. The grow room is also starting to smell…mmmmm.
I have also moved the light up a bit to try and get the plant to stretch a little. Also the epsom salts seems to have done their job and the mag deficiency seems to have stopped. I have left the leaves though for another couple of days just to make absolutely sure and then Ill snip them off.

Ill also do some more tucking of leaves when it comes out of its night cycle to clear it up a bit more so that the lower leaves get some light as its doubled in size this week.

Very happy

Ok, now ive done some proper tucking it looks like this.

The potential bud sites are all a similar height now

Okay now when you snip there are stalks that look like they growing out the main leaf , don’t snip the stalk with the budding flower , just snip the leaf stalk , trust me I made that mistake several times over , but let her grow another 2 inches are so before you snip . You should still get continued growth if you snip in the right stages , she looks great though .

Did another topping on Monday and its already sprouting.

And opening up the leaves has started a new growth in the middle.

and the plant is generally looking mighty fine.

No tie down or anything, just bending the leaves under each other which seems to be working well but I think I needed more soil. Its a 5 gal/30l pot and I put 25l of soils plus the perlite but next grow, Ill fill it right up. It was last watered Friday last week until I got run off but its still wet at the bottom and the plant doesnt seem to be stressed or needing water.

Im desperate to send it 12/12 but am holding myself back. I want to let it vedge until the end of Nov and then send it to 12/12. Have to learn patience. Hopefully by then Ill have a few more bud sites as I can only grow 1 at a time I need to bag enough to last me while the next plant grows so as desperate as I am to send it to flower, I am hoping that it will make all the difference in the long run .

When I put mine in flower it was early but I had a timer take a dump and they had spent over 16 hours in the dark . I was scared they would end up being hermies so I went to 12 12 earlier than I wanted to. Then I found out they would have probably have been fine if I had just went rite back but I didn’t know that . Next time I will veg 3 or 4 weeks longer before switching to bloom . I got lucky and the ilgm white widows are a very forgiving plant and mine are doing good. Good luck

This was them yesterday and they went into flower at 5 weeks old from just poking through the soil . My yield is sure to suffer but I will be starting another grow right away and only will go through a little bit each month .

That’s almost perfect for white widow , you veg them on 4-8 weeks they will out stretch your grow tent , trust had one stretch 5 1/2 feet and my tent is only 5 feet , so I had to really bend the top cola and it was still in the lights , suffered ah lil light burn on one side but okay on the bottom side , but they look perfect .

I made a change yesterday which seems to have had a huge effect on humidity. I was using a clip fan for air movement and the humidity was always below 40. I turned it off last night and added an inline fan to my air intake. Temps went down and humidity went up to over 50. I am thinking that’s a good thing.

So overnight the temps dropped to just above 70 so I have moved the light about 6" closer to the plant and will see what temperatures I have this eve. Humidity is still mid 40’s. my dark cycle is 1pm to 7pm on the basis that if it’s hot during the day the temperature doesn’t get too high

So the new intake fan has made a massive difference. Ive moved the light to about 18 inches away and the temps are holding at mid 70’s. I have had quite a few new growths in the middle of the plant and the 2 branches I topped are growing nicely.

I am still only bending the leaves and branches and tucking them under trying to let more light into the middle of the plant and it seems to be working. Im going to let it vedge for another 10 days and on Dec 1, I will switch to 12/12.
It is very bushy though and I am wondering if I should trim a few of the leaves out??

For my first grow in a tent (my second actual grow) I am very happy. Great smell when you unzip the tent but the carbon filter seems to be doing the job.

What a difference a few days makes

Its really bushing out and secondary cola sites are appearing in the middle. Just watered about a litre with nute but its 10 days since i last watered but that was a full on drench.

Temps are still holding mid 70s lights on and late 60’s lights off and humidity is back around 38/40%

Now I have the temps under control ive been able to move the light much closer

I am suprised at how short it is (which is good) but the main growth is really quite thick which I am hoping means more nutes get to the cola. 7 days and counting to switching

Moved the plant about a bit.

Why is some of the plant not directly under the light? I hear you ask.

Well my thought process is that the lower side of the plant would benefit from the light and perhaps begin to catch the other side up if that side has slightly less. Maybe not, dunno but it seems logical. 6 days to switch for flowering. That will have been 9 weeks from seed so about 8 weeks in vedge. The plant seems short but having measured it, its still short at about 12" but I did bend the main stem.

I am sure it will shoot up once I switch but I think next time I will use 3 gal pots and put 2 plants in there. It does seem to have the room based on how big this plant has got. I want to harvest this and then plant my second seed but I want to clone it so that I can double the yeald and then to scrog them. I lose about a foot off the top of the tent because of the carbon filter so I need to keep them a bit short.

I also noticed a couple of yellow tips, about 3 on the bigger leaves which I guess is slight nute burn but it really is just the very tip on a couple of fronds, not even the whole leaf.

Yes there done and jared the wife loves it after a week in the cure

Raise your light up to 18 inches to get a more wide spread coverage over the plant .

Thanks @yoshi. I have now moved it up a bit.
