First grow since my last grow

Ive spent a lot of hours scrolling through this forum without an account, figured it was time to join the conversation. I have always loved growing, took a long break up until a couple months ago.

When I first started back up I went to the internet and whatever I was searching brought me to hellraiser here on ILGM. I read every single one of that guys post’s… incredible stuff to say the least.

Previously grew with MH/ HPS setups, which I still have but decided to give LED a go. Going to be a little bit of a catch up, but here’s my first grow since my last grow, so far:

Seeds sprouted 9/1, I was shocked 5/5 germinated with seeds that have been stored for at least 8 years. All different strains - blue dream, og kush, mango skunk, maui waui and black jack. ( looking back probably should have just messed with one strain at a time )

Transplanted into 7 gallon pots on 9/20

Topped on 10/1

After

Trellis went in 10/11 to try and start spreading out some of the taller plants

Before defoliation today:

After:

They also got their first feeding today.

Although hellraiser is MIA I’m here to hang out with like minded people and would appreciate any advice and support moving forward. Looking forward to chatting and learning from you all.

Thank you! Here’s what the tent looks like

Don’t mind the droopy plants, just took a big feeding and they’re angry at me for the defoliation today.

They perked back up today

Mango (front left) and Maui (center) have had little to no vertical growth the past week or so. I’m not sure is it’s because of the light intensity, PAR meter reading 575 ish or if I’ve been defoliating too much and they’re focusing on regrowing leaves instead of upwards growth. I’ve been doing a pretty heavy defoliation weekly on them. Im going to skip that this week and see if there’s any difference. I don’t really want to dim the light, everything else seems fine.

It’s odd that Maui is one of the shorties, in the past she was one that was hard to keep control of. Will see what happens this week. If they don’t start spreading now they will at flip. Planning on flipping 11/1.

Checking in on the girls and they were not very happy looking. Humidity levels tanked, reading about 30% when I opened the tent.. I turned the fan down to slow the air exchange and cranked up the humidifier. Growth has really slowed down this week, hoping this will help them bounce back. If you guys have any ideas let me know.

Looking for some advice on lights. Currently I’m using two spider farmer sf2000’s, combined at max they would be pushing only 400 watts, does that seem insufficient to flower a 4x4 space?

I have 600w and 1000w mh/hps setups but I’m really enjoying the simplicity in temp control with the LED’s. Looking at buying another light and using the spider farmers for a veg tent. Have my eyes on the HLG tomahawk 650, or the 600 R-spec. Any insight on those options?

Got home after a weekend camp trip and they are still angry. Was curious about the numbers so gave them some straight RO water with just calmag ph’d to 6.5. Collected the runoff. was good with the ppm (all were between 1000-1200) but the ph was low. Lowest measured 5.1, highest measured 5.6. Thinking I have some salt buildup happening. Next watering will do the same and water to 10% runoff or so. If numbers don’t move I think there’s a flush in my near future.

Did a pre flowering flush, I don’t like flushing. PITA! Used over 100 gallons of water to get them where I wanted them. Followed that up with a full strength feeding. Flipped to 12/12 lastnight (11/1)

Ready for the stretch!

Not much to report this week. One week into flip, stretch manageable thus far. I feel like 5 is too much in this tent, next batch will be 4 at max, I’m thinking just 2, give them some room..

Took some cuttings incase I want to keep any of these going

Another week down, time is flying…

2 weeks since flip, cranking along. They’re all showing signs of flowering. I switched them around so that the smallest one is in the middle now. I feel bad for her though, being bullied out of her space.

I’m Itching to do some defoliation but I’m trying my best to restrain myself.

You could always pop her up on a little booster seat if you want an even canopy

Feel like I cut a lot but they still look foliage thick in spots. This was the pile afterwards:
