First grow GG#4

Hello all! Been lurking for awhile and wanted to be part of the community

I am 4 weeks in with some gorilla glue #4 auto flowers purchased from ILGM. Planted in happy frog at first and then transplanted to OceanForest (I now know I shouldn’t transplant autoflowers).

How do they look for this stage? Been reading about LST, not sure if I should do it or not. Thanks!!!

Hello @DoneDeal @BuddhaX

Your GG4 looks great. Are you gonna LST or SCROG?

I’m growing the same strain from ILGM except mine is a few days from finishing. Hard to believe this is one autoflower.

Holy cow! That plant is huge! Good work

I am not sure what scrogging is I’ll have to Google it

As far as LST, I’m thinking I should but not sure if I have the skills. Thoughts?

No, I thought I read weren’t supposed to top autoflowers. Should I?

Haven’t done anything special yet as I don’t know what I’m doing lol

Was going to give them fox farm trio for nutes in a few weeks

The forum is a user friendly community. Language in respect for other growers is appreciated!

I think it would be a benefit to top her.

This is one of the easiest skill to master. This involves nothing more than securing the plant to something solid, and bending it to your will. The next day, all the leaves will face the light, and appear as if nothing happened.

This is a great way to increase yields beginner and master grower alike. Bending the plant over increases canopy surface area, and exposed more flowering sites.

I use lst clips found on Amazon. Autos can be trained in a different ways long as it’s healthy to start off with. When it starts to flower you can treat it like an photo.

That was my main question, what to use.

Thank you

Hi
I’d advise going to YouTube and searching on LST (low stress training). It’s not hard or scary. Just gotta go slow and do it a little at a time over multiple days.

I do not use the LST clips. Tried and wound up snapping two branches. Instead I use chop sticks (cheap bundle from Amazon) and long pipe cleaners. I bent slightly and tie down. The next day come back and move the sticks and pipe cleaners. You will need to tuck large leaves under and remove any that cause too much shade. Again, YouTube is your friend.

Same goes for scrog (screen of green) meant to assist in tying down the branches to “get an even canopy” which is important when it comes to lighting.

BTW I got the scrog design from another member.

Here is the scrog frame I built out of 3/4 pvc and brick layers string

Bill Ward is one of my favorite YouTubers, he grows some really pretty plants and has several outstanding videos on LST. He gets the camera right in close so you can see what he’s doing and he covers several different styles. Good stuff there.

Good morning growmie, when using lst clips I always soften the stem up by doing some Kyle Cushman chiropractics.
