First grow GG#4

Sounds like a no brainer then. I’m going to buy some ties of Amazon and give it a whirl.

Been watching YouTube videos as you suggested. Very helpful on the why. Sold on the fact I am going to LST

You can do it. Go slow. Just a little bend each day. Next day a little more ….etc.

You will be glad you did

If you snap a branch, don’t freak. Take a chop stick or something and dab on some honey then tape the joint lightly. It will heal even if not lined up correctly.

That’s what made me apprehensive, freaking if a broke a branch. Gonna take my time, just ordered what I need off Amazon, update Sunday!!

Thanks for the info my dude

I use Teflon tape when that happens so you don’t have to fight the sticky side. Honey is a definite in my book

@DoneDeal

I used electric tape (what I had on hand). Not too sticky and easy to remove later. All good!!!

Hi guys, so I tried my hand at LST with one of the plants, but I had a question. The main stem is not very rigid and I couldn’t bend it much. I know your supposed to have an even canopy. Can someone confirm I did this right, or better yet how I should get the main stem lowered? I used a stake and some gardening wire to bend it a little, but it’s not even with the others. I’m assuming I waited to long Thanks!!!

Ps
I watched a ton of videos as suggested, but didn’t see any with a thick stem like that

The stalk is pretty thick i thiink you may be better to just use clips at this point. How many weeks from sprout are you topping the plant would help you but if its getting close to flower I wouldnt do that.

@TLC

I agree about the topping, but I do think I am close to flower. It has been 5 weeks since I planted the seed

I used clips on the smaller branches, but that big boy wasn’t having it. You think what I did is suffice?

I got three more plants I need to do with similar stalks if so. Thanks for the reply my dude!

Its about all you can do at this point I think. Lets get some different thoughts about it.

Can’t tell if the main stem has hardened and making it hard to bend? I usually bend the main stem at a very young age.

Not a fan of the clips (although many growers swear by them). My preference is long pipe cleaners and chop sticks.

I bend the particular branch back and forth a few times (gently!!!) to loosen it up. Then use the pipe cleaners and chop sticks to pull it over (a little). Then the next day or two, do a little more. They look terrible when you first pul them over but the next day they perk up.

I snapped a few branches with clips and decided I like my alternate better. As I said, other use them with great success.

Keep trying a little at a time. Remember, it’s all a learning experience. Doesn’t have to be perfect every time.

Yes sir, the main stem is hard. I should have done it earlier, but I was apprehensive of my ability lol. I now know for next time to do this way earlier. Here is plant #2, basically same issue. As @TLC said, I think it is what it is at this point as I don’t want to break that main stem

Next time if you bend a plant over plant it closer to the side of the bag so the plant can grow over the bag instead of the outside of it. Topping helps with a more even canopy.

I agree with growmies above on it is what it is at this point with the main stem. This plant loves to be trained so try stuff until you find your thing. Happy growing @BuddhaX thanks for the tag. I wouldn’t train the lower limbs though cause the tallest cola sites get the most nutrition. Lst your top ones so the lower can catch up.

Ok that makes sense. I’ll take the lower clips out then. Thank you sir

Need some guidance here. All 4 of my plants have a different hue of green. Started in happy frog and transplanted to ocean farm 4 weeks ago. Plants are 8 weeks old, been flowering for two weeks.

12 days ago I added nutes at half dosage to all the plants. All but one has had yellow leaves and lost some green hue.

New growth on all but one is green. The smallest one has had the most yellow. Ordered PH pen and ppm pen( don’t really understand this) yesterday, but I have been going in blind. Only fed that one time and the discoloration began two days later. Been watering to 20% runoff every 3-4 days

Any guidance??? I have seen it could be nute toxicity, nitrogen deficiency, cal/mag deficiency and have no clue where to start as is my first grow

The one plant is doing perfect and under the same variables. Thanks for your help

Here is closeup of the four plants leaves all different colors
