First Grow, First Harvest

It’s all in the title. Two Blue Dream and Green Gelato autoflowers. Honestly I was just happy to get them all to harvest. Obsessed with the art and science involved in the cultivation process. Already have my next seeds and updated setup and plan on planting my first photo period tomorrow. See my first journal below.

Harvested solo, so fingers crossed. I’m OCD and used to paint miniatures, so went in with the magnifying light but hope I didn’t overdo the trim. I was getting a kind of heavy cut grass type smell and a little worried my cal mag was too much extra nitrogen at the wrong time of flower.

Chopped Saturday night though and starting to get the scent of the bud coming through. Definitely thought it would be more immediate after bucking for the rack though. What I do smell coming through smells super tasty though.

Have them all in a tent now with exhaust at 50% or less power set to 60% RH. Also have fans set below the rack pointed along the sides of the tent at 30% to try and lower temps plus keep airflow going. Checked with my hand and couldn’t feel air in the mesh basket below the lowest rack so I think it should be positioned to not rapidly dry. I’ll start monitoring with the moisture meter tomorrow and put into Grove bags at the 10-12% point in stages based on size and average.

My temps were pretty perfect consistently until I messed with the humidity in the long room for flower. Sitting around 66 now, but hoping for a little more of a drop as the system settles.

Your making me drool. VERY VERY nice! I started 6 Blue Dreams and have excellent results for 3 days in.

If you need help in testing, I am available :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks!!! Yeah the blue dream both smell like snozzberries. Had to resist licking them while trimming for sure.

Finger feel hanging bud.
If it feels “cool” it is moist, still.
Can’t do a steak temp with my burnt finger stubs, but can get 66% on buds.

That’s all the trimmings set out to dry for the decarb machine for an oil infusion.

Thanks Growmie! It would have been half the harvest without you. Can’t thank you enough!

That’s great advice. I’m using the wood meter below to check them per the Grove bags instructions. Some of the real little buds are actually ready a little early today and the medium buds are about 7-10 percent to go which I think is about where I want to be.

Yeah, my little guys are coming in right below recommended so I’ll probably see something similar. Is that ACs wireless one? I did 1 ounce bags and probably should have done bigger ones from what I read so I got 2 of those to monitor a couple bags for my sanity or insanity I guess depending on how it goes. :joy: Was thinking I’d do one in with my biggest buds and one in with a lot of small buds. Interested in your experience on which bags have been less stable though?

Wood meter already reading ready on some of the smaller buds from miss clips, so went ahead and bagged the first almost oz. Getting a really nice grapefruit smell from the bag.

I use Glass Jars for bigger bud aging.
1-oz Bags for small buds.
RH monitors and BT enabled sensors for remote monitoring.
Good luck.

Thanks man! I’m curing everything in 1 ounce Grove bags and then transferring to Amber Mason jars. Plan to transfer an ounce at a time after 2 weeks and then everything that’s left at 2 months.
