First ever grow and kit

One assumes, looking at the various sizes of pots you have, you transplant a few times. Tag me in on my first ever. Lol when does the pod casts start?

Its on our bucket list to grow one.

I would save the trouble of transferring them and just plant them straight into a 5 gallon pail or the ground. I only have mine in smaller containers cause I’m in a studio sized apartment. I end up starting them and giving allot away. No room . I keep the one huge one and hope to be elsewhere by the time the rest get bigger.

Yeeeeehaaaw y’all. Just did first feeding of 4th week veg. ( Will be repeating for another 3-4 weeks. Got all my girls right at 6.4 ph incept for one that is still at a sweet 6.25. :+1:. Ppm ranges from 1550- 1900 which is a tad bit low but close enough for me. Still have to foliar feed with flower kiss closer to lights out. My girls are already starting to have a little bit of that funkydelic smell that we all love.
They looking healthy, happy, and bushy. Baby got back. :joy:
3 newbie veggers are creeping closer to be under the light.

They was just feed/watered and was earlier in day. Still haven’t got my schedule perfect yet. I feed and or water then let go for 2 days and feed or water again on the 3rd day. Which a couple of the plants start to get a little thirsty and start to droop a little.

Ppm says 1900-2240 for 3rd week and 2100-2380 for forth week.

My ppm was up in 3k the first time I checked a couple weeks before starting to use nutes.

I water and feed them all at same time and it just happens that a couple run out a little faster than the others. Like I could water tonight to prevent a couple from being a tiny bit on the welted side by tomorrow morning. Which is my normal 3rd day watering but I figure 12 hours isn’t going to impact them enough to really make a significant difference. It’s allot easier to keep them all on the same schedule.
Maybe a bit different if I had 2 sperate tents or growing areas but just too much to keep track of each one individually.

I probably do have the old schedule but I also add cal-mag in with my feed. I bought this at the local hydroponic store cause they didn’t have ff cal mag at time but said it wouldn’t hurt to mix with ff nutes.

I also got the "

Kelp me kelp you and wholly mackerel " in time for this last feed. It didn’t come with dirty dozen but is I’m schedule.
I got it all now.

Girls seem to be loving life .

And check out how quick the made of honors are bouncing up.

Not gonna ruin a grow with the old one but I guess they have reasons to tweak it.

I had an issue with one of the bottles leaking out on me and ruined some other stuff of mine. I called fox farm to try and get them to take care of it. Basically they said they can’t be responsible being it was purchased through Amazon. And Amazon did give me a full refund credit of 106 bucks without having to return the nutes for the inconveniences. Which got me the kelp you, wholly mackerel, the replacement of boomerang bottle that half leaked , and I still have a 50 dollar credit. :+1:
But anyway while speaking to ff rep I asked all kinds of questions regarding the nutes and when you flush etc. They recommend that I follow the current soil feeding schedule I have.
But also suggested that I reach out to sohum about further answering more questions as far as when I put into 5 gallon mesh with the fresh sohum soil.

But my plan is to go 2 more weeks with the current 4th week recommended feeding schedule and flush with ff sledgehammer before transplanting then into their final 5 gallon mesh pots ( homes).
I figure the rate these made of honors are growing it should be right about a week or so away from flipping to a 12/12 schedule to flowering stage. :+1:

Is my plan anyway. Seems to sound about right to me with what I know. What do you think about that?

Also when I do put into their final hones with fresh soil I’m going to lay off the feeding for a minute. Just water and test ppms . Judging on that is when I guess I will either continue on with recommended feeding schedule or I can even start back with a portion of the schedule and see how the plants react before returning to full portion.
At least it makes sense for what I know. Hopefully you will agree? Am I on track here?

I felt as much but it gives a little more peace of mind to hear it from others that have some grows underneath them. :+1:

Well apparently I have been doing this wrong but I’m fortunate that at least I did it right for doing it the wrong way. :joy:
So I finally got to reading and found the right contact number for sohum living soil. I’m not supposed to be watering to run off at all and not supposed to add any nutes unless completely organic. Luckily my plants are doing well . I got in touch with a rep who happened to answer on labor day while out on his boat. ( Nice guy) . I didn’t want to take up his time but gave a brief idea of what I’ve been doing and the direction my questions would be going. He will be helping me figure this out tomorrow. Sohum soil has all the active micros and everything in it for the whole growth cycle from seed to harvest. So I’m guessing I will continue another week and then just flush before putting in final home with fresh sohum to finish the journey with my first grow. Will see what he says and keep updated.

So I just pruned a good little amount of of these about a week or so ago. These things are so busy again and wondering if I should be pruning again or possibly doing a little lst to get these things a little more open/spread ? Or just let them do their thing and worry more a couple weeks after I flip to flower stage?

Also @Newt I briefly mentioned in post before this about my ff nutes and the sohum soil dilemma.

You could probably remove a few of the larger fan leaves, but not critical that you do at this point.

So I got in touch with rep of sohum. Man these guys are serious about their products and wanting to help . Dude spent about 30 minutes on the phone with me, gave me his email and phone number. So I just pruned plants again and sent him a bunch of pictures. Gonna to wait a day or 2 before transplanting into 5 gallon homes. From here on out all I got to worry about is oh the water to 6.5 and water without runoff. :+1: Dude is gonna guide me via email and phone to finish line . He hasn’t seen my plants yet but he said I should be getting aroubd 3 pounds out of a 5x5 tent. Probably won’t this time cause of a bunch of different stuff I was doing but still should have a half way decent grow . But by next time it’s on line donkey Kong. :+1:

It’s been getting kinda expensive but I use distilled water for my humidifier, watering, and feeding. It is pretty close to 6.5 on its own. If I’m not mistaking this soil reads you just add water that’s pH between 6.2 -6.8 . I did buy a few 5 gallon buckets from home Depot to fill up and let gas off for a few days but Im probably just going to continue with distilled. Just feed my humidifier outside the grow with the gassed off tap water.
He did mention something about nutes which he says he calls fading. So in 5 gallon pots I should have enough energy for 60 days and if it comes to the point that I do need nutes he has a couple in mind for it. Also my next grow I will be using 10 gallon to insure I have enough living soil for while grow. ( He uses 4 15 gallon pots for his grow which is just a couple square feet less than what I have. Said it’s a tight fit but he does very well.
Also he mentioned plastic potd for young cause it’s easier to flip , tap and pull out to check on roots. But to not worry about the constant upgrade from pot to pot. Says he makes the best dense solid buds from a simplified easy grow. All the stuff that’s on the internet is not necessary unless of course people just want to play and try different things which is not necessary anything wrong with but especially for a beginner let’s keep it simple.
No need for the uv bars that there is something in the soil ( forgot name and has a weird spelling) that naturally stressing the plant to create more trichomes anyway. Although I’m still kinda considering . My plants are super super busy/bushy. Barely a foot tall still but damn did I pull allot off and the same amount just a little over a week ago. Any help against powdery mildew is a plus. But I’ll wait to see how things are looking under his guidance for awhile before making that decision. If I can save 180 and still come out like he is saying then I’m good with it. I do have a kickass light anyway. So we will see right?
Wants to start flowering in a couple weeks and by then my made of honors would have about 3 weeks of veg to but he is saying I won’t have the room for them. Said 5 plants max in a 5x5 and scrogging.
Although Im still waiting for him to respond to pictures I’ve sent. It seems that the ilgm genetics for the zkittlzz are very small. My made of honors are already almost the size and nearly a month later that I planted then.

Anyway here’s what they look like after their haircuts. I’m still kinda not liking the ilgm genetics. I haven’t completely write them off yet , will see how this grow turns out before I completely knock them. But I’m just judging on how the twenty20 Mendocino are doing already compared .

Kinda changed things around a bit . Wasn’t going to have enough sohum for all 5 zkittlzz to be set right so I figured I’d experiment with a few different ways. 2 of my zkittlzz went in 7 gal mesh with sohum soil.

Got another type of living soil that is made and sold locally and only 35 compared to anywhere between 44-60. And without delivery wait time. Called rabbit Creek . Anyway I got 2 other zkittlzz in that and my last zkittlzz in that with a little ffof. All 5 gal mesh.
Also started using some lst clips while I was at.

The 2 twenty20 Mendocino " made of honors are in 5gal with ffof.

So anyway , they are set and I hope they do well. Will know which soil and grow to go with next time depending on this little mix n match here.
