Finish attic space or buy a portable shed

Well next step is going to be lining up and electrician. But i ended up with this 10 by 16. Should be emough space for me and my hobbies.

Shed is getting dropped off. I know insulation and wiring first. But i really think the grow spaces should look like built in cabinets with a counter top on one end. Trying to keep it looking as much as a normal tool shed as possible.

That is the size shed I have. I put a window ac unit in (that is WiFi connected so I can monitor on my phone).

After you insulate, I’d consider putting plywood over that.

I’d personally rather not have windows for mosey people to look in. But that’s just my opinion.

Definitely getting insulation and wiring done first. But its to hot for people to even come give estimates this week

Nice choice, i use a 10x20 shed for my hobby. You wont regret it. In my experience, attics are brutal in terms of controlling temp and humidity.

Highly recommend a mini split AC unit for your shed…you will need AC and mini splits crush floor units in terms of performance and efficiency. Also highly recommend closed cell spray foam vs. bats (at least for the ceiling).

You can buy the closed cell kit through the big box stores online for diy. Add a foil vapor barrier underneath the plywood for added r value.
I agree with the mini split unit. Problem is that they pull all of the humidity out of the room.
You will need a humidifier for winter anyway.
I believe ac infinity has a control system to monitor and adjust humidity, fans etc. I think @Newt has that dialed in.

@TeNNWisKeY Make sure you run enough power now so you don’t have issues later.
Too much is alot better than not enough. I ran a 60amp panel to my shed. Ac, Dehumidifier, lights, humidifier, fans, water chiller if doing hydro, It all adds up quick.

@HotAndHumid i am looking at 2 areas roughly 3 by 6 by 7ft tall.

Will i need 4 or 6 inch exhaust into tue expel chamber?

Should the intake be be free air intake, or forced air in 4 or 6 inch?

I’d definitely do the 6” exhaust and filter.

I don’t use an intake fan. Just vent openings at the bottom on both ends where the exhaust fan can pull air into the grow space and expel it.

Finally got my shed to the point i can finish up what is left to do. Mostly worked on the veg room side tonight.

Stuck a tomato plant in there i had saved to dial in the temps with. Still a couple days before my ac/ heater unit will be in.

So far im happy with the way its turning out. Still trying to make it appear like its just a man cave if you peek in the windows.

For the flower room i went with a 6inch fan and carbon filter thats all in one. I will have to see if it will pull enough hot air. It was rated at 400+ cfm on maximum. It is compact and definitely on the quiet side of fans ive used in the past.

Make sure you have enough room to walk around your grow to make it easy to maintain!

Yeah i plan to only have 3 to 4 plants going between both rooms. Started off with 2 bluecheese auto seeds and one misc seed ive had in my bottle of seeds to try. I just put them in root plugs yesterday. Hopefully ill have some sprouts by the end of the week.

Just a waiting game now to see which bean pops first. But im really excited for the way my hobby shed is coming along. Nothing but tools, toys and man stuff from floor to ceiling.

I did end up with a secod ac unit in the flower tent in order to control the temps in that room specifically.

Enjoy the room, you will spend plenty of time there, I imagine.
Shed shopping? Consider “Storage Container”. I am.
