I Don t think the dirty dozen comes with 17 and I Dont think its intended to be used like the trio. Its more of a starter pack of things you may need down the road but not sure. Thats why im asking experienced growers thoughts and opinions so I can research other options. Everyone is trying to sell ya something and I know ya can make most organic yourself and better. So trying to learn and soak up some knowledge.
Appreciate your feedback and looking good my friend.
I like Bergmanâs fertilizer myself. But Iâve tried many different brands. Keep going back to ff. The only thing i didnât see mentioned was watch how much fertilizer you give your plants. That wonât come till after the nutes are mostly used up in the hot soil. The directions on any fertilizer is just a guide. Thats why having a TDS meter is strongly recommended.
Ive used the trio on a few grows. It will do the job well. I had the dry trio as well. Its like thisâŚin my opinion you can spend 70 bucks on 2lbs of jacks part a, part b, and magnesium sulfate and will last for 4 grows. Three parts onlyâŚalot of guys here will vouch for jacks for simplicity, quality and ease. For 70$ it cannot be beat.
Im looking for simple and healthy for sure. Appreciate the info big time and i will look into it for sure.
Jacks 321, simple, clean, and inexpensive. Start to finish nutrients
I am a new grower as well and have purchased FF but I am a bit confused. Started Purple Haze from seed on May 4th and replanted in one gallon pot of Fox Farm soil on May 12th. Made mistake of giving nutrients shortly after. One of my plants did get nute burn but not bad on this one. I recently repotted in a 10 gallon fabric bag with FF Ocean Forest on July 6. She is growing very well. She is 10 weeks old from seed. I am not feeding any nutes just water. This is an outdoor grow and I think she may be starting to flower. Confusing because I donât get 12 hours nights until the end of September. Been monitoring the run off. 7/1 3500 ppm, 7/15 2700 ppm, 7/19 1743 ppm. Live in deep south and we are experiencing very hot and humid days breaking heat records (mid 90s this week). Last 2 evenings she was drooping bad but looked good in the morning (watered the morning after the first droop and took her into cooler temps for the night and out again before the sun came out. I water her every 2-3 days, PH meter also has a wet/dry soil indicator. PH is running 6.3 She is looking so good I donât want to mess her up but I am afraid to give too much nutes after my recent experience. I have the FF trio and FF schedule but also not sure if she is still in veg or in flower.
Pictures drooping are from last night and the rest from this morning.
My questions:
When do I start feeding her again? Is she in preflower?
How much nutes do I give her and how often?
Do I use the runoff to determine when and how much to feed? What are those numbers?
Any help to guide me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Seems to be lots of very knowledgeable and experienced growers on this site. If you could please take a few minutes to guide me I would be so grateful. Thanks in advance.
Literally just put first seeds in dirt today⌠Just been doing a ton of research to try not to screw up to bad first couple go arounds. But you are certainly in the right place for help, everyone here is super helpful and know everything possible! Best of luck brother!
Hey , after 30 years of wanting to , I finally got my first grow kit and just started my first grow. Iâm great with most plants but this is my most important one here. So I welcome all advice, suggest, and opinions that I can get.
My equipment is of following:
Went with 5x5 ac infinity with t-6 inline fan. Also 2 6inch airking fans.
I went with Growers Choice ROI-E720 LED and master controller. ( Currently set at 30 percent about 24 inches above seedlings of about a week old. 18 on and 6 off with a 45 minute sunrise/sunset dimming) . Hopefully that is correct.
Where Iâm at is hot as hell but my day temperature stays in low 80s. I set vent controller to run at 85 temp and humidity. Even with humidifier it stays and around 64 rh.
I have a co2 tank, regulator, and controller but wonât need it till later veg. Itâs a small apartment and just my breathing keeps it between 6-900.
I get my par meter tomorrow.
Seedlings are in half sohum soil and half happy frog. I got the fox farm dirty dozen but from what I understand wonât need it till later as well.
I also have a ph/tds meter and use chemical testers to make sure it is near accurate.
Anyway this is really important to me. Im stressing myself a bit reading everything I can . Close to 3k in when originally only was going to spend a third of that.
So this is where Iâm at. All feedback is greatly appreciated. Would relax and relieve a bit of stress to hear Iâm on track. Would like to have as much fun as I can but I also want a good grow. So if not on track , please help
thanks and kind regards in advance to my fellow growing community.
Oh yeah a couple pictures might help.
I hope to be as successful with this as I was with first bulk mushroom grow
First few days of growth what do you put your lighting at if ya dont mind me asking. Using a 1000 so not a big light. Should i put it at 100% a few inches over them? One looks great but 2 look to be âstretchingâ but my first seeds so have no clue. Appreciate your feebback in advance.
Make and model? Probably somewhere around 24â at 25%. Send some pics of the sprouts and your set up
Small vivosun 1000 in 40"x40" tent. Get pics soon

Agreed. I tried ff trio and ended up killing 1 plant and severely burning another. The salt build up was crazy. Youâll definitely need to flush between feedings.
When you say flushing between feedings what exactly is the process? I read about it everywhere but no one seems to give a step by step but then say dont over water. So how much water do you use to flush without over watering at the same time. So much when you are starting out. Appreciate your time!
Here is the feeding schedule tells you when to flush and this is how i flush it says use sledgehammer but you donât have to i have 3 gallon pots i flush with 2 gallons of distilled water and check run off it should be below 1000 after flushing then depending on what week i am on i give them full strength feed then let dry completely out. I use foxfarm trio and calmag but think i might switch to Earth Dust fertilizer google it sounds easier to use
Same chart go for autos too? What week is best to start if its my first? Want to baby step but not trying to waste time either.
Yes this is same chart using for autoâs. What soil are you using will determine when need to feed
2 in pot4pot
2 in ff ocean bottom 1/3
Ff frog top 2/3
All 2 gallon
