Feeding the plants

Is there a simple feeding plan for plants. I have Fox Farm products ( 4 bottles) for various stages and feel a bit confused. Still trying to grow first crop.

It’s unfortunately more complex than you might think. Feeding blind will result in problems. Nutrients should be pegged so as to manage the PPM (parts per million) of the runoff water and runoff PPM should be maintained as close as possible to 1,000. Apera and Bluelab both make good PPM meters.

You will find this article helpful.

Which FF nutrients do you have Growmie, medium using and plants age? :love_you_gesture:

Good points. I put the cart before the horse.

The OP will also need a cal/mag product if using FF nutes.

Organic potting soil
Grow Big 6-4-4
Cal-Mag. 1-0-0
Buds & Blooms. 2-8-4
Will be setting up a AutoPot system in a few weeks using 50/50 mix of Perlite and Cococoir. Starting to feel overwhelmed :face_with_spiral_eyes: Also have Liquid Plant Food.0-.5-.7

Plants about month old and 3 inches tall. They started growing better after peeling off all remnants of Peat Pots

Here is a feeding schedule.

At around 30 days old in soil they’ll experience some PH shock going from soil to coco I would assume. Soil PH range is 6.3-6.8 and Coco 5.8-6.2. Do you have a PH and TDS pen for measuring the nutrients mixture? I use coco and auto pots……game changer :love_you_gesture:

HEMDRE Store

I have this meter. The plants I have in potting soil will stay in potting soil. I plan on putting them outside August First, that’s when I become legal in Minnesota. Then I’m going to set up autopots system under LED GROW Lights Indoors with the Perlite/ cococoir mixture in a attempt to get it right. I’ve killed many plants in my learning curve.

I wouldn’t put any faith in that meter, it’s mainly for avid houseplant and gardeners. Very unreliable as far as the PH accuracy. I use Blue Lab PH and TDS equipment, I’ve also had a Apera 20 that I’ve used for 3 years and inexpensive and really accurate and reliable :love_you_gesture:

What @OGIncognito said about pH.
Soil is, well, soil. Coco is a soilLESS medium… more akin to hydroponics.
Ah the memories, anyone remember the Phototron, with it’s sphagnum moss?

Is PPM and Ph tested with same meter or are we talking two different animals? Extremely new at this.

You can get two in one units but I recommend one for each. This is great for soil/water

hell ya buddy!! u excited for mn to be legalized finally? game changer for us bud lmao woot woot

You can get the combos, I prefer a separate PH and TDS pen. The TDS pen will measure PPMs or EC :love_you_gesture:

I happy frog mixed with perlite, worm castings, and fox farm fruit and flower 4-9-3 per the instructions on the package. Then top dress with the fruit and flower after 6 weeks, then once a month after that. That’s it other than ph’ing your water. I also use a little fox farm kelp me kelp you during veg, and bio thrive bloom during flowering. Both organic as well. About as simple and effective as you can get.

Is mixed fertiliser poured into pot or do you just mist plant or do both? If into pot how much? just like a normal watering?

I use the fox farm trio. Mix it w/water.
I follow the schedule. I feed nutes every other watering. With water in between.

I would recommend not misting the plant after the seedling stage

Always feed or water to approximately 20% run off and test the PH and PPMs :love_you_gesture:
