Fan leaves trimming

Is it ok to trim off the yellowing fan leaves before I harvest? I’ve got some fairly large fan leaves that are turning yellow as i approach harvest time. My buds are looking good, well formed, pistils are about 50% turned orange and trichromes are starting to turn milky. Probably 1 week to harvest and can or should I trim the fan leaves? They are naturally turning yellow and my thinking is to trim them so more energy goes into the buds and not trying to keep fan leaves alive. These are
Jack Herer plants and they are looking really good.

You can trim the fan leaves. IMO you have a lot longer to go. Still alot of white hairs. Look at the trichomes on the buds themselves and not the sugar leaves. Looks like she could go at least 2 more weeks.

Everyone says, “Look at the bud” not the sugar leaves. Exactly what do I want to look at? Show me what you call the “bud” not the leaves. Yes, I’m confused. I stare at buds for hours a day – seems like.

Red circles are bud sites - there’s lots more on this plant but those were the easiest to pick out without crossing over sugar leaf territory.

Blue circles are sugar leaves.

Anything that looks too damaged to be providing energy is okay to remove. Oversized fans that are discolored, or dry and droopy, are usually safe to go.

@Graysin couldn’t have pin pointed better. Also, look at all the white hairs. Your buds look great, but they have some fattening up to do. Heres my Purple Thai. See how most of the hairs are red and curling back into the flower. Also, see how rhe fan leaves are turning fall colors. At this point they are red and yellow. Chopping her tonight BTW.

Yeah, I agree, probably a month to go. Here’s my buds that I figure have 3 weeks to go.

@Lostintheozoneagain Yup I agree with whats been said,Yellowing fan leaves are a normal part of the flowering stages and can indicate that your plants are nearing harvest time…The buds are taking energy/nutes away from the fan leaves and yes anything looking sick or brown and ugly cut`em off
