My seedling is 14 days old. I know there is a few problems here. I’m using organic soil by espoma. I would like to know what is ailing this little plant.
Getting little black spot on the leaves. And I see discoloration to a light green. Would love to have your experience here for the next one. I have another grow on another pot. No problems yet. Thank you in advance.
Looks to be overwatering. What’s your grow space temps/RH and seedlings need very little water for the 1st 2 weeks. The tiny tap root can dampen off, place a clear solo cup over her, mist the inside of the cup and don’t water for 3-4 days then check. They’ll absorb moisture through their leaves will the roots are getting established the light green could be a symptom of lack of nitrogen not to be confused with new growth that’s often lime green but quickly changes to a healthy looking green
How long did you soak the seeds and how wet was the paper towel whenyou out them in? Your seeds look fairly dark indicating they may have been too wet for too long. For me, I soak no more than 24 hours, then to a moist paper towel in a bag for another day or two. Then plant ¼-½" in medium. From dry seed to planting is about a 2-3 day process for me. But as @OGIncognito said, leave them in paper towel for a couple more days. I’ve actually taken tweezers and pinched seeds open that were taking a while to open on their own.
They like to be warm too while they are germing in the dark. I germ mine right in my tent. Into wet paper towel and I cover them with a runoff tray. They get the dark and the heat they need.
I try to keep temps in the 70s. Humidity in the 60s. But I believe what you said is the problem. I got fabric pots. But if believe is been overwatered. I have another one on another pot. With less water. Seems to be doing fine in its 3rd day. Going to wait a few days. Maybe ripped the overwatered one and start again with another seed.
I have no idea. I read the entire package of the soil. Picture is above. And did not read anything about nutrients. I do have some nutrients at home. I have open sesame. Bestie blooms and Cha Ching. Maybe a little open sesame will help ?
I’m not familiar with those. I read the bag label and has some good stuff just curious if there’s time released NPK? Seedlings actually require no nutrients for 2-3 weeks… husk provides the nutrients and an RH of 65-70% providing the water needed for initial growth. I only mist my seedlings occasional and let the dome provide the moisture and do most of the work
Yeah. I agree. But believe that by the info you gave me. Is overwatered. I will send the most recent image when get home so you can see it. This is how it looked last nite.
The stalk looks strong but the yellow seems to say starved. Could the soil just have nothing her roots have found to sustain her? @OGIncognito@Randyrican
I can just try to add a little open sesame. To see is that spikes her up. The soil is damp below the surface tho. I’m just giving time to see if it recovers. Monitoring the other one that I have less watering for sure. If I see the inclination of the leaves. I will know for sure is the soil. Since we are here. Can ya tell me a good soil I cAn use for autos and is available online. Like Amazon. Just in case this soil do the same to the other seedling.
