Seedlings showing a deficiency. Can anyone spot the symptoms?

They’re about 2 1/2 weeks old and just started getting brown spots about 3 days ago. Now they’re turning yellow and curling in. I am getting something to check ph but I don’t have it yet. Is there anything I can do prior to getting the test kit to help save them?

I’ve been leaving the light on 24/7. I’m possibly thinking it’s time to start giving it 6hours of dark. The soil is an organic potting soil mixed with a seedling soil. I don’t think it’s lacking nutrients because it’s so early on, so maybe it’s a ph lockout issue?

Seedlings can only be overfed. The little round (cotyledon) leaves have everything it needs. Nutrients from soil are not needed at all until those little leaves are gone. What soil are you using? I would expect it is too hot for cannabis.

@FlxerPower the organic potting soil has bat guano, worm castings, some type of bark, perlite, and I’m sure there’s more that wasn’t listed on the bag. I mixed that with a seedling soil that has coconut coir, vermiculite, and a third ingredient I can’t think of. I’ve been watering with public spring water. They were growing great up until like 3 days ago and it just progressively worsened. Should I pick the roots up and surround them with the seedling mix?

@Myfriendis410 okay I’m sorry I’m brand new to this. How do you start a support ticket?

Here’s a support ticket template. Still need to know what soil you are in (by name or a picture of the bag.)

Can you please fill out a support ticket? Please include what type of water you’re using.

@Myfriendis410 @MidwestGuy the video in the first one didn’t work?

All of that looks pretty good. The soil doesn’t look too bad but you’d really be better of in a soil buffered for cannabis like Roots Organics, Black Magic, or one of the Fox Farm soils.

Overwatering is the only other thing I can think of that might be a problem. That or sometimes you just get a bum seed that doesn’t work out.

@MidwestGuy I started two at the same time and they both are experiencing the same thing at the same time. It must be too much water
Thank you very much for your help!

I had issues with Kellogg’s soil also. Got the seedlings out of it and into some pro mix (Fox farm or any Cana friendly soil will works as well)and they have flourished.

@AfgVet Thank you dude! I didnt realize its more of a pain to do a small plant in a big pot smh. Im going out to get solo cups and ordering the rest of the necessities. I just followed @Hellraiser in his grow journal. Definitely put everything into perspective. I quickly noticed all the wrongs things ive been doing. Such a great help!

@AfgVet lol yep I been reading like a mother! I have it figured out as to what I need to do to get these seedlings going. My next step is an exhaust system. Do you have anything you recommend for a 4x2x5 tent? I do plan on scrogging. How many plants could I scrog in this space?

I’m not sure as to what you need for a tent, I have a good size room I grow in, but I’ll tag a few folks that might be able to help you as far as exhaust and # of plants

@Bulldognuts @Myfriendis410 @Missiles Can you guys help @Stickyickyick out with what exhaust for a 4x2x5 tents and how many plants can be SCROGed in it

I don’t have any experience scrogging. I see that your tent is 5 ft. in height. Assuming the space you need to hang light and space needed for for intake fan and exhaust you are going to be limited on what can be used. @Hellraiser may be able to suggest something. @Skydiver may also have some suggestions.

I appreciate all the help I can get! Thank you guys! I’ll post my current situation to help understand what’s going on. I was doing the whole little plant in a big pot thing so I just switched them over to solo cups to start the water/drought system. I might wait another day before I water them. They’ve taken a hard beating of water in the big pots.

To be honest if I can get two plants out of this light I’d be happy. I’ll be willing to throw down on a better light after my first grow. Although after following @Hellraiser I feel like I have a MUCH better grasp on things. Now it’s just a matter of acquiring the exhaust system and a subsequent lighting source for the 4x2x5 tent. From what I understand scrogging will help make the most out of the space

I haven’t Scrogged yet either but let me tag @Not2SureYet he has the same size tent and runs scrogs all the time.

I run that footprint and have one 4" inline running concurrent with light and a 6" exhaust to vent the ‘head’ over the lights.

I could do one SCROG in a 2 X 4. You would probably be better off doing two smaller plants in that space. If autos; a small pot like 3 gallon and photos flip as soon as they show sex.
