My first indoor grow I used Grow Dots, Recharge, and some Cal-Mag at the very end and was very successful. I now have two Godfather OG beans that just broke through the surface. One has GDs mixed in and I think I’m going to try Dr. Earth on the other one but I’m not sure. Any recommendations would be appreciated. This was my first auto, first indoor, and first time using Grow Dots. I must say they seem to work well, I got 7 oz. Of dry manicured nugs off of one auto. Let me know what you guys think on the food. Thanks.
I think you stuck to the plan and came out on top! That’s a beautiful plant and a very impressive yield too! I’ve grown about 30 autos in the last 4 years and most indoor. Once got over 4oz per plant twice. In my opinion only. Most all of the nutrient blends out there are similar in performance if you’re diligent in keep to the schedule and reading your plants. I’ve grown beautiful buds with fox farms, lotus, GH, and now Jacks. I prefer the jacks especially for price point. I bought full bags from them for like $150+/- 3 years ago and still have enough for probably 5 more years. I’m happy with the results when indoors in coco and my outdoor in soil.
As long as you follow their schedule (start at lower doses than recommended to avoid nuts burning them and ready the plants to check for deficiencies or toxicity and you should do well through harvest. Then you’ll be able to judge them individually after dry and cure or however you indulge. But definitely tag me in your grow if you keep a journal on it. I’m always interested in watching others succeed!
Thanks Jake3
Is this the right Jacks product @Jake3 ?
Yes it is for what I use. Jacks recommends that you use them to do a water sample if you’re going to use tap water. If you have access to RO water they have a kit for that or you can use the one you posted. My mentor used the same jacks recipe in RO water with no issue. He actually grew beautiful plants with it.
I have well water, it’s 6.8-7.0 ph. So their product is based on RO?
No. They do have product lines specifically for RO water, tap water and then there’s the basic 321 recipe with the 5-12-26. They all work great.
Jacks recommends you send a sample of your water to them so they can help you determine which line would work best for you. I didn’t do that and just run the original 321 at an adjusted ratio. I’m sorry if I wasn’t clear the first time. I was a lil stoney bologna.
@Jake3 I think I’m close enough to those numbers, I’m going to give it a try. One more question bro and I will stop bugging you. Is bloom cycle fertilizer not necessary?
You’re not a bother at all. We’re all here to share and help when needed. With Jacks, most of us have found that adding bloom mix isn’t necessary but can be helpful for trichomes and terps. The only thing I ever add to my Jacks mix is GH silica till week 6 of flower, Real Growers Recharge once weekly till week 7ish depending on how close to finish they are, and I’ve used Tribus and Fishsh¡t microbials before.
Other than that I just run Jacks full strength from start to finish. Only thing is I’m now running it without the Epsom salt as most of us have found that the 5-12-26 FeED has enough epsoms in it so we adjust the ratio now to 4g/gallon of part A then 2g/gal part B.
Thanks bro you’ve been a huge help. I guess I just didn’t understand "stoney baloney " lol. Thanks again.
15 days above ground for the Godfather OG girls. Grow Dots on the right and Jacks 321 on the left. I haven’t fed with the Jacks yet. The one with the Grow Dots seems to be doing better so far. I’m tagging you two the only way I know how to @Twelve1 and @Jake3. I’ll keep you posted if you are interested.
Hi, and yes! I’m following your journal, but feel free to tag me any time. I don’t always keep on journals in a timely manner, but I eventually do.
They look good!
I just fed the one on the left (Jackie) with Jacks and Dot (Grow Dots) is just doing her thing. Also both got their first dose of recharge too. First topping coming soon.
The girls are coming along nicely. Flipped the light cycle 10 days ago and the stretch is on. I tried supercroping a main and it snapped, duct taped it back together and it never even wilted. I might give it another shot. Is is too late to be doing that? @Jake3 @Twelve1 @OGIncognito
I would let the stretch finish or you’ll end up super cropping several times less shock as well
Yeah I tried two more and broke another one so I just tied them down. Is there a trick to getting them to crease without snapping them?
@OGIncognito is correct. Let the stretch finish out to save on the extra stress for now. If you need to supercrop later, gently pinch and roll back and forth just below where you want them to be. You should feel and possibly hear a slight crack of the inner pith. Once that happens you should be able to gently fold that spot over. Go slow because if you break the outer stalk it creates a spot for infection to enter.
I’ve broken plenty of branches attempting to supercrop and when I do I put a dab of honey on the wound and cover with duct tape but I still allow the branch to be in the approximate position I want the supercrop to be in.
If you’re having trouble getting it right, that’s ok. You can also low stress train the tops down where you want them while achieving very close to the same results. Just won’t have that added knuckle you get when the supercropping is healed.
Thanks yall. I got them tied down where I wanted them an they all turned upward today and look great. I will definitely pinch and roll next time I attempt that, I’ve never done it before. Live and learn.
Well I did some supercroping along with the lst and the girl reponded nicely. Starting to frost up a little. @Jake3 @OGIncognito
