I noticed that in the winter time in NY, if I run the exhaust my humidity goes down to 40 and if I dont it goes up to 60. Do I need to run it all the time or can I keep it off a while to get the humidity where I need it. There is now way its going to get too hot in the tent during these months. I did notice the temp and humidity is almost perfect with the exhaust fan off and a normal fan circulating the air.
@crowlehh welcome to the community
If you want to used just turn on on flowering stage more on middle went your plants starting to smell in you house or apt
In veg the HR should be 60+%
In flowering HR should be 40%
That’s why you see the different
Happy growing
You do want to provide fresh air as well. I run my exhaust on all the time… In the winter on 1 all other seasons on 3…due to heat issues.
I then keep a cool mist humidifier in the tent attached to an inkbirb humidity controller with humidity set at my desired humidity… Also a oil filled radiator heater attached to an inkbird temperature controller set… The exhaust fan is ac infinity. I also use an ac infinity inline fan on my inlet air port also connected to my temp controller cool side. This way you can control your environment. All in a 4x4 ac infinity tent.
I have no issues setting my environment and trusting it now.
Welcome , most Inside growers run the exhaust fan 24/7 to Exhaust hot stale air an pull in fresh. Also with maintaining negative pressure inside tent Controls odor inside home. If you choose to run Exhaust fan 24 /7 control your temperature and humidity from the area you’re pulling your fresh air from. Just my thoughts happy growing !
All plants, not just cannabis, needs the free movement of air to encourage growth, prevent disease, and to avoid infestation. The recommended relative humidity for a flowering cannabis plant is 40-50%. The moisture is reduced to this level mainly to prevent the growth of mold that is very vicious at this stage.
I have a grow closet in an enclosed room. I have the option of exhausting into the attic or back into the room containing the closet. When the ambient RH is low I return the exhaust back into the room. This increase RH and is a little easier on the heating bill. I also use a filtered inline fan for intake into the closet.
Yeah mine goes up to 60s when turning the exhaust off and leaving a fan on, and 40 or lower when the exhaust is running. Its really cold in NY right now, low of 1 tonight. Gonna be hard to keep the humidity up.
