I have 1 Bluebeery auto and 1 strawberry kush growing indoors.
Both are in early flowering stage.
Using a 450 LED light in a 2x4 grow tent.
Have 2 fans running 24 hours.
I don’t have an exhaust.
Is it necessary to have?
Is there any risk to the buds because I don’t have one?
If you’ve made it to flower without an exhaust fan installed, then I would say it’s not ‘necessary’.
But it is good to have for providing oxygen (fresh air) to the plants and controlling the odor with an exhaust/filter set up.
Hope that helps! Good luck
@bluntley420
I make sure they get fresh air. Also have the fans working 24 hours a day.
Just didn’t know if I will have any problems with mold on buds because of lack of exhaust. So far I have no pests or mold issues.
Thank God!
Thanks for the help.
As long as you keep temperature and humidity under control you should be ok. As an outdoor guy, this is just a reasonable assumption, not fact.
@Donaldj would know better than me if exhaust is a necessity.
exhaust is usually to control heat moisture
As long as you have a fan or two moving air in grow room
And as the other mentioned temp and humidity is good id say your ok
I myself perfer to run exhaust and intakes 24-7
Humidity is the killer now and you would be smart to manage and monitor the RH to keep it in value (less than 50%). I run below 30% in late flower.
I have 2 fans on 24/7.
When drying should the fans be blowing on the buds directly?
Absolutely not directly on them
Blow air at the walls just to keep Air moving aeound buds in room or tent but never directly on them @Josephsv that will dry them out to fast
Slow drying is best usually a week to 10 days until stems snap on break not bend
Thanks Brother!
You mentioned keeping the RH around 30 during the final weeks of flowering.
During drying what would be the target RH?
I’ll be here watching to see how y ou turn out
Often it’s whatever humidity you have lol. Ideally somewhere a few points below your target RH of 62%. When things start to get close, Bag the bud in paper bags to retard and equalize the drying. Slower is generally better.
That was @Myfriendis410 who mentioned keeping humidity at 30% range
I try to maintain 50-60 % but yeah whatever it is you just need ro watch the flowers visually inspect them daily
