Yet another exhaust fan question

So Ive been growing in a 2x2x4. Ive fallen smitten with the hobby. So I purchased a 2x4x5.
In my 2x2x4 I have an intake fan and a small desk fan at the top blowing out. Also have a humidifier. Ive been doing good and learned what works to keep the tent where I need it. For seedlings and veg.
In the 2x4x5 I have a humidifier an intake fan. And I purchased an exhaust fan from vivosun. The 4" at I believe 205.
Well the lowest setting brings my humidity down to below 50. Even with the humidifier on. So I was wondering can I put the air right back in? Should I only use this during flower? Or do I send it back? Or if I get a humidity speed controller and set my info will the fan then work at the humidity I need

Hey, during flower it is okay to be below 50% humidity for flowering is 35-45%, later flowering you want lower around 30-40% to reduce bud rot and WPM (white powerdery mildew) and other molds that are toxic to you and the plants.

Your best bet is to set your humidity trigger to turn on your exhaust fan when above 45% RH for flowering tent.
Keep temps:
Flowering stage: 68-79 F°/20-26 C°|64-74 F°/18-23 C°|35-45% RH|
AND
Late flowering stage: 65-75 F°/18-24 C°|60-65 F°/15-18 C°|30-40% RH|

Never put the exhausted air back into your tent, exhaust it outside the room if possible. You need to keep fresh air coming into the tent and exhausting old stale air out of the tent.

You’ll need to replace air throughout your grow. The plants use co2 when processing energy and the co2 will need to replaced.

Im not sure exactly which fan you have, but the controls on most aren’t very good. Maybe exchange the vivosun fan for something like ac infinity or hyper fan as the speed range is probably a lot wider.

Glad I read your comment before posting. Lol. Was gonna advise @BassNBricks to do the same thing. I got an ACI smart exhaust during the 4/20 sale and aside from buying HLG lighting it’s the best setup related purchase I’ve made. I also grow in a 2x4 for now but went with the 6" fan. That’ll save buying another one if I get a bigger tent. Also, cruising along at perfect parameters with the fan on 2/10 is pretty nice too.

This is what I have

Is this one better?

Yes. I would go for the 6" version if you plan on using a carbon filter. The static load of filter drags the 4" down a lot. They’re also available without the automated controller for a little cheaper. I have the automated version and run them in manual anyway.

@Outlaw what part of the country are you in? I’m in New England northern east. Cold winters hot summers. I’m thinking about getting the a/c infinity you say it keeps your 2x4 legit

I guess you’d say South Central USA. Idk why it auto capped south and central. Squarely in the prohibition zone. I run a dehumidifier in the lung room during flowering and run the exhaust at a higher speed during lights out and it keeps everything almost spot on. I have a target vpd of 1.2 and stay very close.

Edit: the new fan and filter have virtually eliminated the smell you used to get about 15’ from my front door. Very happy with it. Make sure you use a code to get a discount if you order. All the big YouTube weed channels have one. I second @dbrn32 on the 6" fan btw.

Too late to edit, but I looked at the pic you posted. They have a kit that comes with exhaust fan, carbon filter, controller and ducting. It’s a better deal.

Just wanted to say I fixed my problem with the fan I have. I saw that the more elbows you have it lowers the proficiency so I extended the dryer venting and gave it a couple turns. Now I can get my humidity up to 60 percent.
