I have been following your posts and understand how you feel. As a new grower myself, it seems like every hick up is disaster and every good thing that happens is golden. Its all mother nature. If you really look at your plant she will tell you if she is happy or not. By being diligent and not obsessive you can catch things early and get her back to happy. We, as new growers, have a great forum to use. To help us with problems, and for us to help others when they have a problem that we had before. You obviously care about these wonderful plants, so i believe you will do just fine. I am almost at the end of my first grow (blueberry autoflower). It has not been perfect, but she has made it through. Here’s one of my latest pictures.
or you can buy PH down which is phosphoric acid mainly i believe, you dont need much at all ! i often pour a drop into a measuring cup with water and then add that cup to my bucket, otherwise i add too much of the shit and the pH goes down to like 3.
Hello @patchman,
Words of encouragement are the key to a good grow. It really is amazing with the amount of help we are able to get off such a magic bunch of people. Trial and error. ups and downs. We all have them, and I am learning by my mistakes, and will continue just like everyone else to achieve the best grow possible.
Much appreciated my friend. Drooling over your BB

My grow tent is 4’ X 4’ X 7’ and I am having trouble with humidity. Temps around 23C and humidity is very low at 42.
My question is what size humidifier would be recommended? I am currently looking at a 2 litre 27W led ultrasonic humidifier. Any help is much appreciated.

putting a clear bottle or cup over seedlings, and spraying the inside will raise the humidity.
I think you have passed that stage, so anywhere from 40ish-60ish during veg is fine. Where i am its super dry, and i literally just put a measuring cup with water in it which creates some evaporation and humidity that way which is enough to bring me up into the 40s
during veg you really want around 40%, and lower in the late stages.
@gusanito
Cheers mate. I am keeping a close eye on everything at the moment. Will give the cups a go.
Hopefully in the next day or so I will get some pictures of whats happening in my Grow tent.

that last bit was meant to say ‘‘during flower you really want around 40%, and lower in the late stages of flower’’
yeah too easy man, lots of people do that with success. I’ve got a veg/clone propogation dome which does the same thing, but has little vents i can slowly open to ‘harden off’ the plants so they dont get a shock going from 90% RH to 40%.
I have been getting those sort of numbers since the start - and they love it. I played around a bit with airflow and movement. That is my sweet spot in late(ish) long veg. I can move up or down if needed.
If the girls protested, I would do something about it.
Hello @Budz420
I am working on that as well. To be honest, I should have made sure I had all the tools first for my first grow ready. got some new toys today as well.
Tent fan arrived and also Hygrometer. funny thing is before I started, I did read the grow bible and it tells you everything to start growing. My old mind playing tricks. LOL.
Either way, things will work out thanks to everyone who have helped me along this magic journey. LOL
sorry, just had a rollie wooohooo much better now

No matter how much you plan - there is always something. I am only using a basic aquarium colour chart tester - but I average it to be more confident of the approximate Gotta get me a good one - availability is the issue at the moment…
There is always somebody here to answer stupid questions - it’s awesome!!!
this is a chart to swing for in regards to humidity. I read tons of ranges throughout… but this is pretty definitive as to where the sweet spot is. Happy growing
Hello @420qc,
Wow, Just what the doctor ordered. Thanks for that my friend. This will be a chart worth printing out for my hand written journal. Thank you.

I may be wrong here, but when my humidity was low I put an old dog bowl in there with some distilled water in it. No one slapped me in my pictures for it, so I zm guessing its ok
I changed the water every other day because I do not want any bugs to get in the girls’ pond, lol. It raised the humidity up about 10-15%.with the size of your tent you may need two depending on how high you need to go. I kept mine around 50 early on. When flowering started I took the bowl out for my humidity to be around 40%. Hope this helps.
Hello All, Day 19
Today I am updating my journal as it is now Day 19. There is some growth with the girls, and as a beginner, I am still happy as they are still alive. May not be the perfect grow, but I am learning off the best through the forums.
The 2 yellow rings are the Gold Leaf and the 2 red rings Afghan.
They are Alive. Lights on 18/6 cycle for veg stage and 40" from plants. Is this ok?
Thank you in advance for your help.

I am glad I could help. I am a new grower too. I have learned a good bit so far, but still have so much more to go. I am just trying to pay it forward. I learned today that it is ok to cut off my mature buds and leave the others to “ripen up” before harvesting them. I will always try to help, and I am not some know it all. If I don’t know whats going on I will call in the ones who really have a lot more experience. I took a picture of the girl’s pond. My tent is only 2’x2’x4’ so one bowl has been enough. Good luck with everything!
