I hope jumping in is okay,
I usually just tip my solo cup over then put the plug in the home pot

I know I have also read on hear that they leave them in the solo cups till the leaves are reaching over the sides thats 3 day of root growth trans planted from tray on 4/25 and the their home pots on 4/28.

I don’t do autos, but most put in 3 or 5 g bags. You can transplant a few of them now into their forever pots. size of tent and light?

I have a 3x3 tent with a 300w light for seedling and veg. I also have a 4x4 tent with a 800w light. I plan on putting 6 in the 4x4 and keeping 3 in the 3x3. I didn’t mean to have the second GSC. I thought it wasn’t going to germinate and started another Hulkberry and then the GSC pulled through. So now I will have to put 3 in the 3x3. At some point I’m going to buy more grow lights and convert part of my room just for flowering.

Would it stunt them to go from a solo cup right to a 5 gal? And what does everyone do about topping? If I do it will be 1 time.

No, it wouldn’t be a problem to transplant into final home. Actually it’s best only transplant once. I like to wait until 5th or 6th node until topping. Some will top sooner.

I don’t think a lot of people top autos. But I can tag someone. It’s ok to put in your 5 gal. pots. I put seed right in forever pots. Maybe if you start training right away. you can keep all 6 going in the 4 x 4. I did 4 photos once in my 4x4. No more. I am doing 3 now, its pretty full. Doing 3 in other 4x4. Thank goodness we love this addictive hobby. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Just noticed that you have autos, I’m not sure about topping autos at 5 or 6 node’s. Someone who grows autos will be better to reccomend when to top autos.

Not so fast :slightly_smiling_face::grin: I didn’t realize they were autos. I’m trying to remember who grows auto’s, I know @Nicky does and I believe @Not2SureYet also.

I don’t get to spend as much time here as in the past, I’ve forgotten all the auto growers.

I do know that many people won’t top their autos, but some do. Let’s tag some more people to find someone who can advise on topping autos.

Ay, really appreciate the tag. As far as topping autos, I’ve only done 2, and I did it a little late I think. One had the 7/8th nodes coming in and already 4 or 5 days into transition, but I think I’ll still get a fat oz from each. You can absolutely do it. The earlier the better. Like others have said, when you see the 4th or 5th node, top to 2nd or 3rd.
