Durban Poison & Gorilla Cookies- Joe's First Grow, and Post

So July 13 I harvested these ladies. It was glorious. We had no idea what we were doing and was having the time of our life! My brother in law and I were debating over how much leaf material to remove because after all it has trichomes on it. We trimmed some to make pretty little picture perfect ones others we left hairy. It was a cool learning experience and the recirculating water hydro I have been working since is really a whopper in its own right. I also started a couple in coco that’s a whole new way to water I’ll tell ya. I might start journals for the others later on. Here are harvest pics and details. With all the stems on it was 3.7 pounds wet total between all four plants. When the drying was done, curing was complete and all was done 11.03 ounces total from 4 plants in 1 square meter with 600 watts. Not a picture of perfect efficiency but I’m happy for my first go round. Here are the pics.

I want to sum up my first grow for every one else who is getting started.
First off, four plants was too many for 1 square meter. I am currently growing my second crop in the same tent- 2 Big Bud in RDWC (that’s buckets with running water, lots of air in suspension in the water, and somewhat weak nutrient charge) The two Big Buds are too large for the space. I will do 1 plant in RDWC or 2 in soil or COCO moving forward.
Secondly, when plants grow, leaves die and fall off and not all of them require investing or intervention.
Last and most important. If you buy a clone, you just bought some mites probably. I bought seeds from ILGM and sent them to the wrong place and they took like forever to get here. They did get here, THANK YOU ILGM. But, I had just received my medical marijuana license and had a tent and all this grow equipment set up ready to go! So what does any sane red blooded impatient American do? I bought 4 clones at a local dispensary. The bad thing is though, mites are really, really small. And the clones are healthy and growing great. About a month in, leaves are dying, kind of a lot. More so on the Durban Poison than on the Gorilla Cookies, and more on the seemingly older/ maybe inner growth. I looked at the leaves but didn’t see much. Compared to pictures I had seen online but none seem to match really. I showed pics to the guys at the garden shop and they asked if I’d done anything; yeah I had added soil. Put them in flowering, they have too much phosphorus they said. I believed they had a deficiency so I was bound to match the leaves up that evening when I found the webs of mites. Webs of them. They were in the internodes, some of the mites were the size of a pencil lead. At the time I didn’t realize this was ginormous. It took a month to rid the four plants of the darn mites. The majority was gone in a week, mind you. Over and over with the azamax and smite. Now I periodically treat just as a preventive measure. I also treat outgoing cuttings as a curtesy.
In closing I have started growing 2 big buds and a Amnesia Hase from ILGM seeds because you can’t get plant crabs like that and that’s all right. Don’t be afraid to water because I was underwatering mine until the very end when I started adding nutes and watering to runoff and it became known to me the realistic amount of water needed to saturate the media.
