Drying the harvest at 60% RH?

I’ve got my drying room dark, a fan and ceiling fan blowing indirectly on them and 48-66% RH and 68-73 F daily range.

So I wait for about a week and then jar them to cure in the dark? I don’t have a moisture meter, but I do have the Broveda 58% packets and mason jars.

So far no moldy smell or anything. Am I missing anything? Will be my biggest harvest ever. :flushed::flushed::flushed:

I like to wait to trim and jar until the buds snap clean from the stem. If they pull a fiber they’re not ready. If you put them in the jars sooner than that (sometimes you have to work as time allows) you’ll need to burp more.

Ok, so 7 days or so in the 60% RH, I’m planning on mason jars with a 58% Boveda packet size 8. I ordered Grove bags but they won’t show up for a couple more weeks and I didn’t get that many.

So do I need to burp the mason jars after they go in once a day if a Boveda pack is in it? :person_shrugging:
And then they stay in the dark for about 4-8 weeks for the terpenes?

Haha he is the all time world champion of hide and seek after all. My first harvest is currently drying so I haven’t cured yet and have grove bags ready, but from what I’ve read you do need to burp with or without the boveda at least for the first couple weeks. Few times a day at first then once a day and so on. I’m sure a more experienced grower will be on with a reply before too long though!

Kind of, small ones that have rubber seals back when I thought I’d only grow in a small tent forever.

Probably going to go to a store tomorrow to get larger ones.

Nice. Gonna be happy. I would not stick a humidity pack in anything unles you needed to. Just me. Grove bags work well and cheap. If in at right humidity and burped correctly the pack is kinda unneeded. Just my thoughts. If overdry i can see it.

Ok, but isn’t the humidity pack for mason jars that aren’t vacuum sealed for long term storage? I may get rubber sealed mason jars instead of screw on. Hmm.

I believe the consensus is to not use Boveda packs during cure. Once the correct rh is reached, one may be used to maintain that rh. I recommend putting mini hygrometers in the jars while curing to monitor the rh. I use these and similar ones.

The hygrometer will also tell you how often and long to burp the jars. High rh - often and longer

Exhaust air you don’t need fans blowing plants

I would not use boveda pks in the jars til fully dried and ready to go long time cure. Hygrometers are almost a must when drying and curing so u know the rh in the jars or bags stuff is put into. I drying the line til the outer bud feels crispy half way thru or a bit more then I jar a small amount with a meter and see what the meter reads after 3 to 6 hours being in the jars closed. If it reads between 60 and 64ish I leave them and just constantly burp the jars several times a day taking buds out putting them back in ect til I stick between a 58 and 62rh reading in jars and yes burping is a must to rid of all the gasses in jars from chlorophyll break down and conversions that happen.

The Boveda packs are being used for buds I tested over a week ago and had already reached 62%. Rest of the harvest is still drying.
