Not stupid at all. A small heater works but it’s a juggling act trying to use the onboard stat. Have a look for something like the inkbird or similar then you set your heater to full and let the controller switch it on and off as required. They’re fairly straight forward to set up and I just wouldn’t be without one now. Be careful as there’s 2, one for heating and cooling and the other does humidity so be careful you must
Ok cool will look into it, cheers mate.
Can I use a small portable heater in the interim?
Yep, set the stat then monitor your temp to make sure its switching off and not running constantly. Just be aware that it will heat up real quick so watch it constantly to make sure its applying a little heat and not cooking anything
Ok cool, will get into it first thing tomorrow. Genuinely appreciate your help with messengfing me back and forth. Legend!
Anytime, we’re all the same here, all willing to help
Just for the record a lot of us have been here and tried all these things. It’s all about learning what your plants need and when
I just want to get these two girls through, first grow and haven’t not had a smoke for many years!
You will need to invest in monitoring kit as well for your nutes. I use the Apera PH20 for PH and the bluelab truncheon for PPMs. These bits of kit are invaluable in a grow, so have a look and see what’s about down your way. Apera have a real good name. The Bluelab kit is from New Zealand and have a great reputation as well
To be honest my largest one is 23 days now from sprout (glue gelato auto) and she’s started flowering today and she’s always since about 4 days old been a little droopy every now and then and leaves are all dark green with a shine to them, been told could be nitrogen toxicity but she seems to be doing fine, now feeding her any more nutes from now on just straight PH water
Looks good, be interesting to see how the increase in temperature affects them as well.
@Se7en your plants look great but really dark green. They’re properly loaded with Nitrogen
Yeah I believe so too lol, I think I over fed them a couple weeks back and maybe a bit too early, beginners mistake I can imagine only going organic with straight PH’d water From now on maybe do a flush in a couple days
Agreed on the feed routine . Its so easy to give them that little bit of extra love
. I pretty much assassinated my first grow . I had an unexpected death with one of my plants on the second grow. Just started to turn black from the top down. Then I had spider mites, gawd it was never ending. I’m there now though thanks to these guys
. So if that’s your only noobie mistake you’re doing a lot better than I ever did
. One thing I have never done is flush. I just monitor, if I’m too high and water to runoff till it comes down
I assassinated my first three california snow autos too Planted them straight in top soil basically murdered them by suffocation
this time round I went to compost, which I think has added to the nitrogen toxicity, so now I’ve just gone and picked up a load of coco fibre bricks and perlite and going to try that mix for the next batch. These ones seem to be doing fine atm just won’t be feeding anymore nutes In a rush
especially as at the time the only nutes I could get was tomorite tomato feed
@PurpNGold74 has helped me MASSIVELY with advice and information the last few weeks! Big up him!!
the op and other beginners may want to load a pot with just plain soil and no plant or water, that way they can compare the weight.
Thisbis the Inkbird I use, not the easiest instruction manual to follow but there is lots of you toob videos and these controllers work great! Cheap too!
Look ok, you do want to keep your plants slightly above room temperature all the time and slightly warmer with lights on. It doesnt have to be hot in there.
Another top tip. Great for comparison
Just done a light flush on her, run off was a yellow tinge to it so probably why the nitrogen been so high throughout the growth, so hopefully this sorts it! Any input would be greatly appreciated, she is 24 days now glue gelato auto
@raustin I heard that you may be able to assist!l?
