Don't know how this works but I have a million questions

I have 6 bubba kush plants. I’ve read they are suppose to be easy to grow. However, everything else I’ve read tells me these plants are a moe-foe to grow. I’ve read Bubba Kush likes Moderate and dry climates between 68 and 80 degrees. Okay, I live in one of the suburbs of Los Angeles where the temperatures can reach into the 90s and triple digits in September and August. What do I do when the temperature reaches the 90s and above? Do I move them to a cooler place, like the garage or into the shade?

Im an indoor guy, havent grown outdoor for 20 years. Some of the outdoor guys will hook you up tho im sure.

Constipation, welcome to the great outdoors.

Your plants will be fine. I’m in Huntington Beach. I grow every strain outdoors regardless. Those descriptions are just guidelines. On hot days you can make sure to give extra water and also a morning foliar spray with an aloe solution will help.

I would suggest 15 gallon minimum grow bag size per plant. But 30 is better if you can swing it.

You will need to start thinking about dealing with caterpillars/moths. They are your worst outdoor pests.

I spray weekly with Monterey BT to control them. Also if you can attract small birds to your garden they help.

AAA, I’m still not all that used to using this forum. As a matter of fact this is the first forum I’ve ever joined. What I appreciate most is you don’t live far from me, just a short ride down the 605. Which means we have the same weather more or less. Your advice really helped calmed the anxiety I was feeling about the Leaf Septoria thing. When I bought the Bubba Kush seeds it said the strain was easy to grow. Yeah, right, it’s starting to seem like I bit off more than I could chew! For the longest time I’ve been trying to get my lady friend to let me try growing some pot on the side of her house. 9 years ago I grew 10 five gallon buckets of tomatoes and I’ve been trying diligently to get an Okay and finally this year she gave her Blessing! It really cracks her up to see me obsess over something I can’t and haven’t smoked in years. My reason for her letting me do this now is because I’m a diabetic and I have neuropathy in my feet and hands. I’ve heard making a topical cream from cannabis will help my condition greatly. Anyway, enough about me, as you mentioned about giving extra water on hot days along with a foliar spray with an aloe solution, is this absolutely necessary? I’m trying to keep the cost of this endeavor down to a minimum. I live on a small pension and I’ve already spent a pretty penny on items I’ve had to buy more than once. I think I mentioned to you that I have my six Bubba Kush ladies in 7 gallon grow bags. I purchased the 7 gallon size because while watching a video on YouTube I saw this guy “Urbanremo” who was showing his Bubba Kush plants and it looked like he was growing them in what looked like a 5 or 10 gallon bucket. Here is where you can find this video “Urbanremo - Old School Bubba Kush Plant - YouTube” from what I’ve heard Bubba Kush doesn’t grow very tall and I figured the 7 gallon size would be good enough. If you think I can get away with the 7 gallon size that would be cool but, if you recommend I go to at least a 15 gallon size then I’ll follow your recommendation, it’ll hurt but I figure you know best. Ok, just one more thing. If I have to transplant my ladies out of the 7 gallon Grow Bags perhaps you can give me an idea how I could accomplish this task without making a mess out of my ladies. Sorry about being so long winded, sometimes I get carried away.

All good my friend. I grew up in Cerritos off the 605.

You can take them all the way in the 7 gallons, but you will probably have to water daily on hotter days. If you have an aloe plant you can dry the allow leaves out and put in a blender to make a powder to then mix with your water. It’s not necessary per se, some people throw a seed in the ground and get pounds of weed.

My advice: don’t stress, don’t make any knee jerk reactions, and post up pictures of your pants on a weekly basis so others can let you know if they see problems.

Fabric pot transplant. You can cut away the pot or you can use a crepe spatula(hope my wife doesn’t read this) to separate the roots from the sidewalls of the grow bag. Once loose, put your hand over the soil surrounding the stem, turn pot upside down and gently work the root ball/soil mass out of the bag. If you are not comfortable, sacrifice the bag.

A bigger pot gives you a bigger buffer zone.

I make a Tiger Balm with cannabis infused Coconut oil and it helps my dad’s knee and my mom’s arthritis in her hand.

I’m a bit further up the 605, Montebello to be exact. As for having to water daily when the weather goes into the 90s and triple digits. Well, that’s okay with me. It’ll give me something else to do other than all the other crud I have to attend to.

You know, I’m not looking for a flower mother load from my six ladies. I’ll be happy with a decent return on what I’ve put into them. Right now it’s more about learning how to grow decent weed and to learn not to freak out when something goes a little sideways.

You know, I’ve read this about Bubba Kush; they say it doesn’t grow very tall and goes on to talk about growing it in low lying places like cabinets and in closets. Then, last night I read Bubba Kush can grow as tall as 4 meters. Well, when you convert meters into feet, 4 meters comes out to 13.12 feet! Man, that’s tall!

However, at the rate my ladies seem to be growing and taking the size of the grow bags into consideration, I’ll be lucky to get 6 feet of growth out of them if that.

Also, I’ve been giving some thought on transplanting to the 15-gallon bag you suggested. The reason for the change of heart is; when I put the girls into the 7-gallon bags I split up a 5lbs bag of Super Soil Concentrate by Nature’s Living Soil. Now I’m feeling I didn’t use quite enough of the Nature’s Living Soil. So, by changing to the 15-gallon bag that’ll give me a chance to beef up the amount of the Living Soil into the bigger bag.

Yet, no more than a week ago I transplanted the lovely ladies from the seedling planters to the 7-gallon bags. The question I have is; how long should I wait before I can go to the bigger 15-gallon bag and should I water them the day before I make the transfer so the soil doesn’t crumble in my hands when I attempt to transfer them?

Well, this should cover any and all question for a good while. I just want to thank you again for your patients and kindness. Best regards from the Constipation Think Tank

I would not put too much faith in the description of Bubba Kush.

Let’s say, for example, that the plant they used to make the seeds gave 1000 seeds. Now let’s translate that to humans.

If your parents were both average height and weight, the doctor would assume that their children would be of average height and weight. But now they have 1000 children, you can bet there will be a lot of variance genetically and phenotypically.

If you are not going to cut away the current bags, then I would try to wait for at least a month to get the roots to expand and hold the root/soil ball together when removing.

You will not be disappointed moving to 15 gallons.

You are welcome, thats what the forum is for. Post up some pics, let’s see your ladies!

Today me and my better half went into her garage type wood shop and made a little transportation for my ladies. Since the rain the other day it seems like the sun has moved and the ladies were’t getting the same amount of sun. Before the rain they were getting a solid 8 hours of sun shine. Now without the ability to move the ladies around I was lucky if they got 6 hours of solid sun shine. The bummer in all of this is; Where I have them it’s the sunniest place on the property. So it seems, if I’m going to want my ladies to get more sun I’m going to have to push them around a little.

On the 23rd. will be a month since the girls popped their little leaves out of their cradles (seedling pots) and I’m kinda bummed out because I think they should be bigger than they are. Well, I gotta snap out of this funk because after all; at least I haven’t managed to kill them all. Thanks impart to everyone’s words of encouragement here. I gotta put the fires out as they come and take things one day at a time and keep a cool head and remember I have this here forum and the knowledgeable folks here to see me through. Thanks everyone! You guys are the bomb!

Well, I better put up the pictures you requested before I go off on a bigger rant than I already have.!

They look right on track for a month old. The real explosion in growth is coming.

If you transplant, definitely wait until they at least double in growth.

Nice caddy!

Okay I won’t consider doing any transplanting until the 23rd of June. Thanks.
