so i started my seeds out in soil but i am moving them to a deep water culture setup. the roots have grown a bit and i was wondering if i should place then in rockwool cubes or if theyd be fine supported by clay pebbles

Just rinse off the roots the best you can, and add to your set up.

clay pellets will work…IF the roots can reach water.
to be safer, rooting plugs will not get water logged and grow algae. cut sponge rooting plug in half then roots can be safely supported. use string to keep closed and transplant it all into clay pellets.

Get some 3” neoprene collars with a slit in them. Insert stem into the collar. Place in 3” netpot after you cut the bottom out of it. Add water and watch it grow.
