Blue dream Auto flower first day of week three… Everything’s looking good and I was told I should start LST my plants.
It was a little difficult I’m not sure I did it perfectly but it’s my first time I get the point is to get light into all of the little nodes growing… I get worried that the plant will pop out of the soil LOL mine are pretty stiff but after I watered them a little I was able to do it.
I’ve read different things different places but I should change it 90° once a day and bring down any large leaves that cast shadows on the nodes.
I know this is going to sound ridiculous but I’m just scared to top them I’m scared to cut anything off I don’t want to ruin anything I was thinking of maybe just doing two and leaving the other two to grow naturally?
Very confused right now I know this is a very important time of the plant’s life before it actually kicks off growing really fast.
Any opinions or health or advice would be much appreciated… Thank you guys you’re all wonderful
I attached a couple pictures I just took now right after I finished tying everything down and watering so they’re looking a little wimpy but that’s just because all of this just took place like minutes ago
It appears that you did a fine job with your LST effort. I seldom top my plants, just LST. I think that most folks do top before they start LST…Not certain about that.
Let em straighten back up then top if you want. Being week 3 you should still have time to top or FIM and they should recover. Also, dont tie those ties tight, you just want enough to hold her down. The stem will thicken amd you dont want the wire to grow into the stem.
Pick and choose what branches you want per plant to where you top at. Most take off the first node I like growing nodes 3 thru 5 or 2 thru 4 Happy Growing
So let’s say I LST without topping versus LST with topping? I hate to make anybody have to write a freaking book but how would those scenarios differ? In the best circumstances of course
I learned real fast how to LST- Super Crop with the BD. That’s why I pick and choose what branches I want to grow rather than trying to grow the whole plant. Bending plants over is a cool lst technique the plant should be planted by the edge of the bag so it can be bent inside the bag.
You got it… those look great! I missed the opportunity to LST mainline all of the 6 im growing. Im just doing the individual branches that grow out the sides of the main stem. I broke quite a few. Im going to have to wait until after i water them because they become more pliable once filled with water. They snapped very easily. I used duct tape to hold them back together while they’re rejoining and healing. I guess this is a form of LST & HST combined huh?..LOL
I like to use 100 gallon low profile fabric grow bags. We toss one plant directly in the middle. I LST the plant tell it reaches the overall width of the grow bag. Once I achieve this I let the plant grow in hight for the remaining of the season.
This gives me a plant this is roughly 5ft by 5ft wide.
As long as ya got some still connected you will be ok but before you try to just bend take the stem and squeeze it and roll it in your finger tips softening the plant tissues before bending and thats called supercropping, send a pic of what you consider snapped and ill let you know if you should tape or not. Its amazing how much snapping you can do they just grow fat nuckles at the break kinda like a bone would thats not reset.
